I always pick a side but only the side of the rapper I like more. If I like them both, even better. Quality diss tracks from two camps, I like it. I like Game and 50, enjoyed them dissing each other. I liked Game's disses more but he just came across as a cunt when he dropped more diss tracks than normal tracks.
Beef can be good publicity, also. I think it keeps some competition in rap. I'm a Game fan but I know Yukmouth killed him, so I can still respect the song from the rapper I like least.
