He might of been contacted by god, you never know, but what you do know is he is a man, and just like all men, he can lie and he can hallucinate.
Still it is totally acceptable to believe him, however that doesn't change the fact that it might not be the truth, whether you believe him or not.
But because of that plausible doubt with all what I just said in hand, you still have to accept that just because you choose to believe him, it doesn't mean he is right. It is just your opinion that it is the truth, there is no fact to back up his claim, as the same with all religious beliefs.
But you are entitled to your opinion, and no one has the right to tell you that your opinion is wrong.
So when some one says something you don't like, it is their opinion, and just like every one else, you have no right to justify your behaviour because of some ones opinion.

Yeah I have some African ancestry. Nah, use of the "n" word doesn't offend me. I simply make an effort to not be around those who feel a need to use it, rather it's a casual use or used with the intention to be offensive. I understand your point though. And I don't expect everyone to have the same reaction to this sort of thing that I do. As a teenager, something like someone using the 'N' word in a derogatory manner would've been on the list of things that pissed me off. But luckily as an adult I've matured out of that phase.
Don't get me wrong, I definitely understand where you're coming from. I'm not one of those people who feel that everyone has to be like me, think like me, agree with me, etc. While I understand why a muslim would be offended by these sorts of threads.. I don't feel that people should censor themselves in order to not hurt someone else's feelings.
That being said, these types of threads start out informative and often end up being nothing more than a lot of name-calling. Which is why I questioned why the thread was even open still. No, I don't think people need to censor their topics in order to not hurt someone's feelings.. but that's only if a valid topic is being discussed maturely. However, if people can't maturely discuss a controversial matter.. then what's the point of keeping the thread open or allowing things to keep going. There's a difference between me talking about a religion I may not agree with and discussing why vs me just coming into a thread and calling everyone who isn't an atheist a complete idiot, etc, etc..

I think the threads that may be offensive should be allowed to remain open. But when someone starts to insult others for no reason other than to start trouble.. then close the thread, warn or ban the person, etc.

p.s. i really dont agree with halal meat at all, killing an animal is bad enough... why would you want to make it suffer during its last moments of life that it has left. why would you want to make an animal suffer is the question regardless of when and how it suffers.
yes, i eat meat but i don't agree with halal. and i have cut down on the amount of meat i eat. and in china they have halal pork. doesn't that make islam fallible since the pork becomes halal and some Chinese people are islamic?

The problem is, at times, the insults come from established members who lose their cool. We can't ban them all, or else we'll have less and less people posting. I've been thinking about closing all threads on religion and God so it can force people to talk about something else than the usual.
A lot of the members have told me that they are getting annoyed and bored cause it seems like it's the same old topic coming up (Elvira was quite vocal about it in a past thread for example). With all going on in the world somehow religion, God, Meat Vs. Vegetables is the most talked about issue here.
Another problem is that some feel that these threads should stay open... so it's going to have to be talked about between us mods and our King Admin: Woods. I'm all for open discussion, even if it gets heated a bit, but for the most part, these issues cannot abstain people from throwing direct and for the most part, indirect insults.

yes, that would need to be addressed. the whole point of having the forum board is for discussion, however unnecessary insults and degrading will be detrimental to new users' activity and likeliness of continuity, so just defeats the object anyway.

Right. I'm not saying sugar coat your arguments to avoid offending others, but it's either raw, uncut discussion, or sugarcoated discussion. You can't favor protecting one ethnicity by banning a word and not protect another ethnicity...or religion...by allowing similar derogatory words against it. If it's "fuck muslims" then it's also "fuck nigras." That's all I'm saying.

I thought the point of Halal, or more precisely Dhabiha, was to cause no suffering and to drain its impurities (ie blood). Also I don't know how pork can be "halal" as pork is forbidden as the pig is considered a dirty animal, as it is in Judaism.
As for fish, I believe it has something to do with Allah gave man the Sea to feed from, as fish do not have to be killed as they die naturally in the air. However, its only Halal in certain sects.
Jhatka meat is supposed to be less painful and instant. i thought with halal the animal dies a slow death while the blood drains from the throat and they pray over the dying animal.

Yeah the thing is, what most Muslims practice isn't Islam, its their own interpretation of Islam, which in 9/10 cases goes against Islam itself.
What alot of people don't know is that Islam is basically an extension of Judaism, and recognises Adam (as in Adam and Eve), Abraham, Moses, Noah and even Jesus as Prophets of Allah, just like Muhammad. Except where Jews chose Moses as their saviour and Christians chose Jesus, they chose Muhammad.
So if you ever hear a Muslim say "fuck Jesus" they are also committing blasphemy, which I've heard said on more than one occasion.
