Pakistan wants Facebook CEO Zuckerberg dead

^^ very true. they mock Christianity and Judaism often.

I also overheard them say that smoking is now 'Haram' (opposite of Halal), and therefore blasphemous. Wouldn't, or shouldn't this have been the case from the origin? I guess these people at my workplace could fall into that category. They use word of mouth as a rule of thumb and so hearsay can cause misinterpretation and also different practices.

Perhaps, but the intention is apparently not what counts here.

For the record, I don't support censorship in any shape or form. I think it's silly the board censors ****** but not other stuff.

what the fuck is this?

when did this board become filled with a bunch of unreasonable assholes?

im sick of reading "dont come back" and "why are you even here" to new members who happen to have a disagreement with someone. what kind of a fucked up attitude is this?

mods should be ambassadors of the forum, and should encourage people to stay and contribute.

manny never said anything insulting or abusive, so how is a comment like this justified, especially from a super-mod?

unacceptable man

would it make everyone feel better if manny said "fuck extremists" and THEN take issue with what casey said, even though it IS insulting irrespective of whether manny spoke out against extremist muslims?

this is not the first time where a new member has been shat on repeatedly.

it's not so much that i don't like new members. i'm all for new members. we need new members.

but don't come here, post something, someone criticizes it, then call us racist, and then tell us that go on their boards to they can ban that someone...

anyways whatever. frankly i think i'm just tired from these muslim vs the world debates because they always end up bad and irrational. and this thread definitely started on the wrong foot with some members saying fuck muslims.

I come back because I get people telling me to come back. I have done more for this board in a few years than you have your entire tenure here. I don't take pride in it because this forum isn't my life. Why do I come back? Become I've got those handful of e-friends I talk to about stuff from cars, phones, and play Live with them as well.

You're waiting for the comeback? :smh: @ your ignorance. How pretentious are you to call something before it happens? We got fucking Babe Ruth here, everyone. To me, your role on this board is the antithesis of Kelli. She gets the attention, and you eat your French cunt-crepes out of depression because you're the butch dyke no one pays attention to. I'm no psychologist, but I'm guessing that's the root of your anger. Otherwise, I never said anything sexist towards you.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't come on here for you or your entertainment. Get off your high horse and fuck it.

Congrats.

Btw e-fame is overrated.

Duke, that's essentially what I'm trying to say. How much flak would I catch if I said "fuck niggres" on here? Sigh would ban me in a heartbeat. Or whoever it is that bans me every time. For the muslims on this board, like Jurhum and Rahim, I'm sure it's a bit embarrassing for them, to say the least, to continue to post on here. The thread is fine, as far as the topic it's pertaining to, but some members need to quit with the "f this" and "f that."

Next, there will be a thread on the flaws of Christianity, Hinduism, and for Sandeep and Thuggy's sake (I think) Sikhism.

See, atheists have it easy in this situation. What do we say? "Fuck atheism?"

^well you can always criticize on their lack of faith/belief. or you can find out what else they believe in. it's not because one doesn't believe in God that they don't believe in destiny, or efforts lead to success, or the American dream. those are all examples that are flawed. human beings are driven by beliefs, whatever they are. some prefer to believe in a supernatural being, some just believe in their talents.

clearly it's not as easy as just saying fuck Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. i actually think that hot topics like those shouldn't be debated with fuck this and fuck that. that's what makes a debate poor and eventually end up in insults. i think everyone should start debating intelligently (including me) because these religious topics (more specifically Islam these days) are generating arguments and often include fuck ________. while i don't think it deserves a ban, i don't think it should be encouraged either.

oh and btw just to be back on topic, how does one necessarily rule the CEO of a website? for example, Canada has been having privacy issues with Facebook, claiming they are too lenient and have been setting deadlines that Facebook hasn't really complied to. how do you punish a website and its CEO? under which federal laws of which countries can he be punished? the internet is flawed and not regulated. as much as Pakistan won't get the CEO dead, Canada won't get their privacy issues fixed either.

You're right :D Not that I follow it however.

I agree with this post.

There's not much to criticize about people that don't believe in invisible deities, follow outdated ideals and want to impose their way of thinking about things upon pretty much everything and everyone.

That's why "fuck atheism" makes no sense.

Religious doctrine = halting the progress of humankind.

^ I disagree. It's agnosticism that is the "neutral" stance.
Atheism is just the opposite to having faith that God exists - Atheists believe that God doesn't exist (it's just a belief too, just more reasonable from your point of view).
Atheism is a belief that is often as extreme as extreme religious people can get. Atheists believe that there's no God and they're as convinced of it as religious people are that there IS God. In this case both systems are just plain and simple - belief systems.
You can't prove one or another.
As much as atheism seems rational to you it's agnosticism that is the logic/proper "scientific" answer and from the logical point of view atheists are as wrong as religious people because with our current knowledge nobody can be 100% sure that there's no higher being.

want to impose their way of thinking about things upon pretty much everything and everyone.
This goes to both - religious people and atheists equally. Actually my experiences show that it goes more to atheists as most religious people I know are nice dudes who keep their beliefs to themselves while some atheists are "extremists" in their own fashion ;)
You just can't see it because you're convinced that you're definitely right and they're definitely wrong and you have the right to "enlighten" them.

Well, alright. Agnostic if you wanna get technical about not excluding the sheer possibility of anything higher. In theory i'm an agnostic as well, but in practice i'm an atheist.

^ But "muslim" isn't a derogatory term for an Islamic believer. "******" is a derogatory term for a black person.

So "fuck muslims" would be analogous to "fuck black people" if anything.

Apart from that, no one in here actually said "fuck muslims".

Spot on. End of story.

I think we're beating a dead horse now. At least, I am. I just see the hypocrisy and I mentioned it. We can still have "neegur" banned, it's just that I'm questioning the reason why and how it isn't uniform.

I guess I haven't commented on the issue at hand, so I will.

I don't think all Muslims agree with this. I'm sure a good number were offended by the South Park issue, and then the mocking that happened afterwards by other people, namely Facebook users, but it isn't the views of all the Muslims.

Now, I'm no devout Hindu. I question the existence of God, but I THINK there are very few barbaric practices in Hinduism, relative to other big religions. Buddishm, Jainism, Sikhism are no different. There have been wars including all religions, but the aforementioned religions don't place an emphasis on rituals ( most of which are antiquated) and that's the beauty of it. It's open to interpretation, and there's a larger focus on intellectual ideas. They still have their flaws, for lack of a better word, but when people say "elephant God" in reference to Ganesh, it hurts a tad bit, but I attribute it to ignorance or just on accident. That they don't know how to address it. Kinda like a mature black person may not get offended by "neegur" and just attribute it to ignorance.

I'm not running through the night raping and pillaging people that have "wronged" me through religion. I use religion, or certain aspects of it, to help me live my life. Do I need to? No. Morality isn't exclusive to religion. I just know I would be a bit lost without some ideas religion has taught me.

Atheism= freestyling your moral values
Religion= reading off your sheet, or at least rehearsing it before you go in the booth

None is wrong. You've got legendary freestylers like MC Juice and legendary artists that write their songs over time. Are you saying Pac was less of an artist because he used a sheet as an aide?

That's a fucking terrible analogy dilla, sorry dude.

Anyway, fuck being religious and fuck being agnostic. Being an agnostic isn't saying anything. "Well, we don't really know one way or the other". It's just pointless, and sitting on the fence. Most agnostics secretly know there is no fucking god, they're just spineless and afraid to have a REAL opinion.

I would bet that there are almost NO religious people or agnostics on the entire fucking planet that would actually believe in the following:

the tooth fairy
giant fire breathing dragons
santa claus
the flying spaghetti monster
fairies
leprechauns

Why? Because there's no evidence to support them. Go ahead, try and claim those things might actually exist with the argument that there's no evidence that they don't exist either. See what people say when you go around saying that. Then you'll realize how atheists think about the idea of there being a god.

Also...

Religious doctrine = halting the progress of humankind.

This.

Without religion, by now we'd probably be inhabiting distant planets, be able to clone ourselves perfectly, there would be no wars (or at least a lot less), more people would get along, overall humankind would be far more intelligent and we'd all have hoverboards.

Thanks to you fuckers, I have to live without my hoverboard. So fuck you for that.

Humanity needs to wake the fuck up and stop clinging to these stupid, pathetic, outdated, pointless, retarded, fictional fairy stories.

Also dilla - it's not just about barbaric practices. Let's not forget Sikhism (for example) had a toolbag asshole called Bhindranwale who through his own cowardice caused the deaths of hundreds of innocent people including women and children. And the extremists in that religion call him a saint. Fuck that shit. All religion has evil, corrupt practices, some are just more well hidden than others. Sure, Buddhism and Hinduism try to be more transparent and they have less extremists, but there's still a lot of bullshit there.

I doubt it's that straightforward. I'm sure if the idea of God had never existed, there would be a different set of problems today. With regards to their severity, I don't know. This whole situation is theoretical, so one can't say for sure. The grass is always greener, I think, applies to this situation.

My analogy was to show that one did not need guidelines on how to act. Some just go with the flow and learn and others need something taught to them.

And it was a terrible analogy. The only difference between freestyle rap and written rap is improvisational skill, which is a learned ability like playing a musical solo on any instrument. Both Tupac and MC Juice learned how to rap by initially emulating their peers, the same way everyone who learns guitar starts off with the "Smoke On The Water" or "Smells Like Teen Spirit" riff.

Atheism can be as studied and it's lessons taught just as much as any religion. But whereas with religions, these moral lessons are taught through the mediums of fantastical and largely fictional anecdotes to illustrate a point, with atheism they are based on logic, verbal reasoning, intelligence, knowledge and understanding.

I have no idea where you got the concept of atheism being some sort of "make it up as you go along" attitude towards morality. That's completely inaccurate. Religion is unnecessary and in fact, more harmful than anything, when it comes to finding the right moral path.

I suggest you head to your local library and pick up a copy of "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. It's not wise to talk about things that you really have no idea about, and when it comes to atheism, I don't think you do.

Teaching moral lessons through "fantastical stories" is a bad way to learn them? Sure, some people take religion the wrong way and do nasty things in the name of it, but there are others that do just fine with it.

I should look into a book to tell me how to think? Sure. I'll look into it. Doesn't sound too different from reading the Bible or the Quran, though.

The difference is that musicians like Pac, yes, they read off a sheet, but THEY wrote the sheet.

I'd say...

Atheists = hate music.
Agnostics = listen to whatever is on the radio and don't give a shit either way.
Spiritual or inquisitive people = write their own music.
People who have blind faith in either Religion OR Science = sing karaoke; often badly.

Congrats.

Btw e-fame is overrated.

there's no logic in what you're saying. you pretty much tell someone to fuck off because he called someone a racist based on a comment which was obviously made to be insulting to muslims????

this is my problem exactly. why can't you see the blatantly obvious that this is just fucked up. you can't just jump on someone over petty shit like that.

it's as if this forum has built this "club exclusive" culture where outsiders are no longer accepted. moreso new members who don't exactly fit the "mould" of what we're used to. someone who deviates from this just a little bit will most definitely get shat on. this shit is gettting ridiculous and pathetic. you're telling someone to leave because of something he viewed as racist?? very nice. very, very welcoming.

the problem with this forum is that certain people, whilst engaging in discussion, aren't discussing anything at all. it's more of a case of people having a certain ideology, adamant that their way is right, and then pissing on everyone else who disagrees. this applies to all heated topics in SH. there's a severe lack of open-mindedness in this place, and it completely stifles any productive discussion, because certain people here are too arrogant to accept different, opposing views. and so these topics just go around in circles, because nobody seems to be able to concede their position on anything. it's a case of "i'm right, you're wrong, so fuck off". this isn't just in relation to the Muslim / Religion threads, but a few others. It's fucking annoying.
