I hoped Croatia will win this. I secretly even thought that they might get to the finals considering they played nicely in their (our) group.

Anyway, i am gutted for Croatia. They have a come along away and a lapse in concentration has cost them dearly. Turkey played well though and you have to admire their never say die attitude. Another thing is that the Turkish team may well be depleted for the Germany game due injuries and suspensions, so i was hoping Croatia would hold out because i think they would have more chance of beating Germany.
I came home from training at the start of extra time and i actually said to my brother that Klasnic would score the winner. He has money on Turkey to win the tournament lol.Klasnic nearly scored the winner didnt he. I think Croatia over celebrated their goal. Perhaps that is what the ref added time on for. Some of the penalties were desperate as well. Professional footballers should be hitting the target at least from a penalty. Fair play to Croatia for coming this far though. Who knows what might have been if Eduardo was playing.

I saw Ireland flags in the croatian section. fair play lol. I was supporting Croatia in this tournament so im kind of sad that they are out. We know how it feels to lose on penalties as well. remember in 2002 when we played Spain of the pitch and then lost on penalties. That was sickening.

The pundits over here were praising Kovac and Simunic's excellence under high balls and they also praised Turkey for not changing their style of play against Switzerland and Czech Rep and getting back into the game by playing football, keeping calm and not resorting to lumping long balls into the box. Its ironic that Turkey's goal last night came from a hopeful long ball into the box and a lapse by the otherwise brilliant Croatian defense.

Croatia was the better team. But the game itself was kinda poor and in the second half, Croatia somehow forgot to attack and create some chances to score. Still, they were the better team out of two weak teams.

The ball wasn't in play. It was right after the Croatian goal. Leko was on the line to sub in for Niko Kovac. Hence why Bilic was freaking out at one point.

I'll have to check it again, but thats the complaining I've been seeing from fans and thensome. Bilic hasn't been making a fuss though.

He's acting quite reasonable saying, this is what makes football the most popular sport in the world.
