Only 50% of the city is normal.

but no, in typical Dutch fashion we drop the pace. Idiotic. The Russians played very well, make no mistake, but if the Dutch team did what they did against France and Italy we would've had them. But everything we did right back then we did wrong now.

They seemed to show too much respect to Russia. The didnt commit near as much to attack in this game as they did in the group games, in fear of being caught out by Russia.We hardly saw Van Bronkhurst pushing up the left like we did in previous games. Russia were excellent but their defense is error prone. Van Basten used up his substitutions far too early as well. I know Boulahrouz got booked but thats no reason to take him off.He could habve brought Huuntelaar on later.

Hiddink was asked in the press conference before the game if they were scared of the Dutch attack. He responded by saying that he would be scared if Russia kept giving the ball to Holland and let them attack. He said that Russia's best defense was to keep the ball and attack Holland themselves. Thats exactly what they did and thats exactly how you should play. The man is a great manager. It would be easy for him to take over the likes of South Korea and Russian and then have them play defensive football,keep the score down and think of it as an achievement just to reach a major championship. But Hiddink had South Korea and now Russia playing good football while they have the ball and then putting in a big effort to close down the opposition when they dont have the ball. He is a great coach. I wish Ireland had him.
