If i get it right, it works for the attacking team. But not for the defending team, in this case italy.

Yeah, i just read up on it because i didnt know the rule either.

It says, if a player of the defending team goes off the pitch, intentionally (what Panucci didnt do), he could even get a yellow card for leaving the pitch without permission.lol

Edit.: I can absolutely not understand why Domenech didnt nominate Trezeguet nor why Del Piero is not in the starting 11. Motherfuckers, they scored 20 and 21 goals!!
