^^Modric showed glimpses of what he can do but i dunno if he is all what he is made out to be.

Austria should have won this game or at least drew. I dont think Croatia will be contenders after watching this. They dont look much better than they were at the last World Cup. They looked tired as well, but we will see in the other games. But Austria are a very physical side so maybe that didnt suit Croatia, i dunno...

Yes, Modric is worth the money. Most will agree. Every player has his bad days.

As usual, we're amazing in qualifying, then bad in the group stage. We usually raise the tempo against big teams, so Germany is next, I expect us to play better.

Poland were ok but they have nothing up front and their final ball was poor. They have a chance of beating Croatia. Guerrero was good and should start. Germany always looked like they could score when they attacked.

Croatia disappointed, they were off the boil after their first goal. Pranjic shouldn't be on left back. Modric is worth what they paid but he joined his side in the off-the-boil-ness.
Austria was better than I thought, mentally and phsyically.


Germany's win was more narrow than it seems. In midfield the battle was pretty even. Poor Polish defending in two moments sealed the match.
Polish were fine leading the attack from midfield, but the final ball into the 16 was often very poor. The distance shots attempted lacked accuracy and/or poison. Polish defence didn't look brilliant either, even apart from the two goal-moments (especially the second one, heart-aching). Their number 8 had a good game on left flank, their best man I think.

I'm against players who go to other countries and become citizens of that country and play in their national team.

A lot of nations have 'foreign' or 'non true born' players in their squad.
Croatia with Eduardo, Poland with Brazilian Guerreiro lol, Germany with Podolski, Klose and Brazilian Kuranyi, Italy with Camoranesi, Sweden with Ibra. And Portugal team is like European version of Brazil. Both countries speak same language, Pepe, Deco, both Brazilians and Ronaldo too I think.

Croatia played very sloppy. After that penalty, they should have immediately continued attacking Austria and scored another goal and put them away but they couldn't do it.

I have high hopes for Croatia, they better play better in next game.

Its like, were Poles game strategy coming to this tourny was to like offside trap German squad ever time they would cross the ball in the box? They looked foolish tryna play offside game with Germans in the first few minutes.

I feel bad for Poles though, I wanted them to beat Germany badly. Germans played good.
