Official Champions League & Europa League thread

I think the guy on his left just shat his pants and is trying to play it off.

I would think so. However, playing Barca over two legs is '""'easier'""' than a one off winner takes all game. Look how close Arsenal were to knocking them out last season. Literally one goal...which they didn't score when they had the best of chances.

Theo Walcott really is an awful player

glad AC Milan trashed them. perhaps a good outside bet to win it out. Italian football is improving.

Ibrahimovic had one hell of a game and what's up with Robinho running past him celebrating as if he did it all alone, Zlatan pretty much set it up for him.

Ramsey is shit too. He thinks he's a playmaker lolz. Ibrahimovic was different class. Totally bullied arsenal.

The best league in the world has only got Chelsea left lolz

That slightly irked me. Ibra did everything for him and he didn't even thank him.

^^ For real. Ibra even seemed to have hurt himself in the process and Robinho didn't have the decency to even check up on him.

I think Walcott would make a great centre forward. I believe he is wasted on the wing.

Hasn't been the same since his broken leg. Was a better player than Wilshire. And may still be if Wilshire doesn't recover from his weak ankles.

Also.... The Premier League is the most entertaining league in the world. That's why it is said to be the best. There is also the chance that bottom can beat top. This doesn't happen in any other league. I don't think anyone believes the EPL has the best technique... There is also less cheating than is found on the continent.

Germany's league is more exciting. The top four always changes apart from Bayern. Wolfsburg won the league one year and finished 10th next season. Look at the league table in Germany right now, now thats exciting. The cheating I agree with, but then again I don't see it much in Germany. I feel the bundesliga will become stronger and stronger.

Germany's variety is great, who would have though monchengladbach would be fighting for the league title, Dortmund shocked everyone last year, Wolfsburg a couple of seasons ago.

The premiership is great and is exciting, don't get me wrong, but the quality has declined, Chelsea, Liverpool, man utd and arsenal have all declined, man city and spurs have got better but no one else has.

I find the Bundesliga boring. Maybe it's because I don't care though.

I agree with you about the quality of football declining in the prem. But I think it will recover.

Isn't the Bundesliga doing great financially as well? Seems to me I read that they're the only big league with a profit - in addition, attendance has been going up every season, not only in the premier, but in the 2nd division as well. I'm not sure, but a few weeks ago, there was a 2nd division rivalry with Dusseldorf I think, and they were expecting something like 50,000 fans to attend the game, they didn't hit 50,000 though - only 41,000. Amazing nonetheless.

It makes more profit than the Premiership. Not sure how they do that seeing as the Premiership brand is huge

Bundesliga stadiums always seem full also. Great fans. Especially St.Pauli

I like the Bundesliga :)

What surprises me is how loyal St. Pauli fans are despite their teams...um 'struggles'...to put it politely.

The fans are a huge part of Bundesliga. I like how the players always take time to acknowledge them at the end of the match, win or lose.

St Pauli awhile back almost went into administration, I think. Bayern Munich paid off their debt or helped out, something along those lines. Apparently, it happens quite often in the Bundesliga that clubs will help each other when serious financial problems arise. I don't think this is common amongst other league - never heard of a Premier team helping out a smaller club. I could be wrong though.

That being said, St Pauli fans are legends.

Yeah, Bayern have financially helped out I think 3 Bundesliga teams. Classy. The millions Man City have could save Portsmouth easily. But its a difficult situation, the people who got Portsmouth in this mess need to be punished, you can't get away with not paying what you owe. Some of the players they have, average championship players are on 60k a week.
