Amare was 2nd because Steve Nash was a soccer player back in the day, get real son. If he didn't give a fuck about the dunk contest, he wouldnt talk all that trash about how he's going to win it. Again, you're wrong. Chris Anderson got mad hopps. White boy CAN jump, more so than most black athletes in the NBA. If you ever saw highlights of him, or last year's dunk contest, you'd know what I'm talking about.

That wasnt the rule back then. Why do you think there was controversy last year when Ricky Davis was allowed to dunk? He was in his 4 or 5th year.

I could write an essay refuting the stupid stuff you just said. But, I'm not. The bottom line is, Andersen didn't practice his dunks and what he was going to do, obviously, AND he was too slow to catch the ball from the time it bounced, to the time it came down by the rim. It was just lack of practice, really.

Disregarding his personal life, he didn't lose any respect from the fans. Basically, really good players like Wade and Lebron came along and there's just not a need to dick-ride Kobe anymore. In a year or two, all the dick-riding will be focused on Lebron. Kobe will just be like an Iverson or like a Carter. Now, besides all that, a dunk contest never really gives you respect from the fans. Only, if you're an NBA player that hasn't really accomplished himself in the game. Regarding his personal life, "the white girl" controversy, he'll never regain the same respect from the fans, NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES.
