Nate Dogg, the former "must have" singer on any hit rap single, appeared in a Compton courtroom on Wednesday (July 15) to answer to a slew of charges stemming from an arrest in late June.

The singer (real name: Nathaniel Hale) showed up in a wheelchair, according to TMZ, where he stayed for the entire hearing. He pleaded not guilty to felony charges of making terrorist threats, as well as other lesser charges.

He was arrested on June 23 after his estranged wife called 911 while driving down the 405 freeway in Los Angeles, telling police Nate was making death threats and "dangerously" following her as she drove down the freeway.

Also during the hearing, a protective order was issued against Nate, ordering him to stay 100 yards away from his ex, Latoya.

The judge ordered that Nate Dogg remain in custody Wednesday. The bond was set at $100,000, which he quickly posted.
