So tell me...why do ppl always seperate themselves..and in this case from the all universal hip-hop...Why do we call this Muslim/Islamic hip-hop..shit I don't wanna get into a religious debate or shit..I just wonder there is Christian hip-hop too right? I have also always found that weird.

Maybe you can see in that way, but what amazes me is that hip hop has reached lots of different cultures, it's not about makin a difference between them. It's just that it seems that hip hop is known in almost every part of the world, and people from very different backgrounds listen to it, and also want to be part of it, and I think that's great.

its considered Muslim Hip Hop because they add Islamic values in it, for one the artists dont curse in their music, and speak on positive stuff. Theyre not really seperating, theyre' just reachin to Muslim youth.

Im generally against the religious profiling of hip-hop. You can have Arabic hip-hop if they rap in Arabic, but Muslim hip-hop is just hip-hop. Christian hip-hop is just hip-hop. As if racial segregation in hip hop isnt bad enough, now we have religious segregation? To me thats everything the hip-hop culture is against.

rukas, your right, but i think the point to label this "muslim" Hiphop, is not to say ur non muslim, u wouldnt understand. Its mainly for the muslim youth who's parents, just cuz of stereo types and stuff, get a negative image when they hear the term hiphop. So the youth can go mom, i picked up muslim hiphop, its possitive, and it has no crsing and nothing, so the parents and stuff are cool with it.
I think hiphop should'nt be segragated by religion, color or culture either. Cuz to me true hip hop is just anything that can get some1 to think, and that in itself is positive.

Being a muslim i dont support the title "muslim hip hop" it should just be Hip Hop, by an artist who happens to be of the Muslim faith
