The few remaining residents of a Canadian sorority house are celebrating the onset of Christmas vacation when a thirteen year-old girl is found dead in the park. Soon, it is discovered that one of the sorority sisters is missing, which triggers a terrifying chain of murders within the house.

The ending is great though. This came out in the 60s I think, so this is what gave birth to all the other slasher mystery flicks you see out nowadays. Like Scream and such.

Yea, I hope they do it a little justice. I wonder what story they are going to choose out of the 3 movies.

Bollywood Fight Club? That I have to see.

No more original ideas?

Brokeback Mountain
Capote
Crash
Good Night, and Good Luck
Munich
The Constant Gardener
A History of Violence
Walk The Line
Cyriana
Transamerica
Memoirs of a Geisha
Hustle & Flow

All Oscar nominated, and not a remake in sight.
Not remakes, but quite a few of those were adaptations from novels, which once again shows lack of original material in Hollywood

The vast majority of films are adaptations from some other art form. Why? Because authors and playwrights get paid to write. Filmmakers get paid to make films.

I bet the majority of your favourite films are adaptations.

true they are, but that just proves my point. Writers seem to have trouble coming up with something original, so they just adapt something that was already written to the screen. There's nothing really wrong with that, but it seems nowadays, almost every movie is either a remake, or a book adptation. Hence, less creativity by screen writers

I heard that there will be a Halloween remake in the future.

And to answer the age old question, Hollywood remakes movies simply to make a cheap buck off everyone. They always say "we were just trying to reintroduce it to a younger generation, modernize it, etc.". What was wrong with the original picture in the first place? Nothing! It's easier to remake something than to come up with a new IP.

people write what they know. look how many films have been made were a main character could be compared to jesus. neo in the matrix is a good example. another good one, which is going to sound funny but we did the comparison in class once, is e.t. the extraterestrial.

i agree with what you said. but at the same time i cant help but wonder if some of these stories come out subconciously through thier work and the writer is just unaware.

Unless Bruce Campbell is gonna reprise his role as Ash, then they shouldn't even touch Evil Dead that movie is fuckin classic! I swear if they remake it and pick a different person to be Ash ima kill SiGh and have my way with his sister!!!

In the New Evil Dead Bruce Campbell will NOT be playing Ash. Infact Ash wont even be in it. Sam Raimi is writing it, he wrote the original, so it cant be THAT bad. and if it is, then atleast he killed it before Hollywood could.

Theyre making an A-Team movie .... who the hell could ever possibly replace Mr. T?! knowing today's pop culture, they'll sign Snoop Dogg or some other rapper. Makes me cry a little inside.

Batman is a different story. Theyre creating the movie based on the comic book. Wich Tim Burton didnt do, i didnt like the Tim Burton ones except the first one with Jack Nicholson as the Joker. Theres another one coming out in 2008 with the Joker. I think they did a hell of a job with Batman Begins, so im looking forward to more.

Black Christmas was a GREAT movie. Since theyre remaking it i hope they dont fuck it up. I hope they do it right. When the killer made noises from the closet, meowing like a cat to get the girl in there. That was freaky as hell, they better do that again.

I loved watchin the He-Man cartoon when i was a kid. The movie too. I just think makin a He-Man movie today is a big mistake.
