From what I know, it takes some time for the plastic to really deteriorate. I think you can use it for a few days afterwards.

Some people (black people like secretaries at work) like to use the same bottle for weeks at a time. Now that is stupid. Also, leaving the bottle in heat (sunlight) causes it to degrade faster, so avoid leaving it in the car or near a window indoors.

Well, since I recommended and posted the link to Klean Kanteen earlier in this thread, it probably means I use it. Anything you want to know about it? Other companies make similar bottles. As long as it's steel and not too thin, it will be good. Can't hold hot water, though, the steel gets too hot to hold. And does anyone ever wonder if Styrofoam cups are safe? Almost everyone who works somewhere uses them for coffee or tea on a daily basis. That's hot water added to what? The chemical styrene/polystyrene, which does leach out when exposed to heat. There's no long-term studies on people, of course, but it has been found to damage human cells to the point of causing cancer. California is trying to get it banned. So, no, it's not safe. The lids also have polystyrene in them, as do the foam take-out containers. So no hot-food in them.

I just use the cupboard cups from starbucks if I grab a coffee. Which is only once a week on average. Most of the time I drink Green Tea in a ceramic mug, if it's cold. Or just water. I have been reusing my bottles. But only for the one day.... I may have to invest in a couple of the steel containers..!

What size bottle do you have? I'm thinking of getting the classic with either the 27Oz (800 ml) or the 40Oz (1.1L), with sports cap from Amazon.

Who went to Sam's Club and bought 1000 16 oz. styrofoam cups for $22? This fucking nigger!!!!
