Film & TV Marissa Cooper on The OC?

I was a little surprised to see Marissa die even after FOX said the week before that somoene unexpected will die on the season finale. What are your thoughts on this? Mischa Barton being an actor, started coming late to tapings of the show and sometimes didn't even show up at all. It was clear she wanted to leave, and what better way for her to go then to kill her off on screen. Do you think the show will survive with out her now that she is gone? (or what appears to be that she is dead)..

Did you ever stop to think that this thread might spoil something for the people who watch the show but haven't seen the episode yet?

i saw it. i knew someone would die, never thought it would be marissa because she is a key character to the show. but i knew they were doing a radical end to start the show next year in a new direction. as next year we will see kaitlin evolve in harbor and see seth, summer and ryan evolve in their universities.

i knew mischa barton wanted to leave the show. and since marissa was supposed to get on the boat with her dad i thought we'd never see her again after that. but having her dead? thats unexpected.

but this season finale was really good. the season 3 itself wasn't all that but that was one good season finale that goes along the 2 others of season 1 and 2.

it was a sad episode yesterday. them leaving harbor, marissa leaving for greece and at the end marissa dying in ryan's arms.

Nope I didnt. But I posted this after I saw the episode. I live in Canada. My time zone is Pacific. If I remember it next time, I won't do this again. But I didn't post this up to spoil something for the people who havn't watched it, I posted this topic up cause I watched the show, and after watching the show that night, I felt like coming to the board and talking about it.

The people who hadn't watched the show and came to this thread and read this cannot blame me for finding out this information on the show because no one made them read this thread but them selves. I feel angry at the fact that your making me feel like I did something wrong here.

According to Yahoo News, "If fans are angry that Mischa Barton spilled the beans earlier this week about her character Marissa's fate on The O.C. season finale, well, there's not much they can do about it." Right here it says clearly that people knew about what was going to happen to her. If you are really a fan of The O.C. you would've known this before you watched the show or even before you read this and said this to me. I hope I didnt spoil the show for you or anyone else, but my intentions were not to do so, as hers acctually were.

It's also possible Barton escaped The O.C. just in time. Next season, the drama goes up Thursdays at 9 p.m. against CBS' CSI, ABC's Grey's Anatomy and NBC's pet project Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Someone might get burned.

Your title was originally "Marissa Cooper dies on The OC?". Although it's phrased like a question it might already spoil it for some people and you didn't need to enter the thread to read it. Consider that other people also saw FOX announcing that someone would die and then they see the title of your thread and put two and two together.

No but you could've phrased it a little bit different. Instead of the very first thing in the thread saying "I was a little surprised to see Marissa die" you could've said something like "After last night's episode ...". If the people who hadn't seen it yet continued to read then yes it's their own fault because you gave them a fair warning.

I wasn't implying that you made this thread with the purpose of spoiling it for some people, which is why I asked if you ever stopped to think that you might be doing that. And that's why I made the sticky thread about spoilers, so people take it into consideration.

Shit happens, no big deal.

I haven't watched at all this season but I loved 1 & 2. I can't believe Marissa's dead! I didn't really like her though, I think Ryan is best with Theresea. Was she on at all this season?

^she was at the end of season 3. she almost went out again with ryan, util she realised he wasnt enough mature with all the shit that happened with volchuk and that because she had the baby, she couldnt take risks to be near someone like that.

Didnt expect that, it was only the other week I said "they will never kill her off" haha oh well atleast now they can stop toying with the idea that her and Ryan will be together.

lol i'm part of a The OC forum to get spoilers and i went there today and they are like all mourning her, making it a big deal as if she was their best friend and they lots her. sorta pathetic. even tho its sad she wont be in the show next year, but as said its a show, therefore get over it. lol

I was sad when Mark Greene from ER died. When you're attached to a show emotionally, you get to the point where you see each character as a friend and when they die or when something bad happens to them, you mourn with them.

Anyway, Carm do you think Theresea will be in S4? Also, what did Ryan do when he find out about the baby? And do we know if it's his or not for sure?

i think theresa will be in S4. as for ryan and the baby, theresa told the baby wasnt his so there was no reaction really. so basically they say the baby is not ryan's at the moment, but i have the feeling it is his. thats why i think she'll be back in S4. especially now that she's back living in orange county she should be around.

will you watch S4?
