Another Thread in FX forums inspired me to open this one. After listening to that ugly ass shit Album again i came to conclusion the vocals are real fucked up on certain Songs like Thug 4 Life, Who do ya luv (especially that one), Hennessey ft. obie T and most of all Don't U Trust me(!!). I don't know if it's just me but this makes it really hard to listen for me. This supposed to be the new mastering style of 05 or what? If you listen to the leaked acapellas they sound so natural clean and on lttg like shitty cpu's and through the slow down process (who do you love for best example) makes it even worse, like something real disgusting, ugly that won't go over in due time.

Can't explain better cause i can't tell in english language what i feel, hope you feel what i say. Dunno if this been discussed before but i thought it would be intressting to collect opinions (especially remixers and such).

pz yau

at the time I thought Em made the pellas 'sound old' to add some authencity or something...to me by degrading quality = old song...but then I relised that theory sucks and the real reason for the shit quality is that Em remixes suck!

what's weird is that even a free shareware program can alter tempo with minimal effects on pitch (if it all) so i have no explanation for ghetto gospel whatsoever. em is only partially to blame too, since various engineers and the final person who mastered the tracks all had toughed them in the process.

I guess this album was mainly to attract other fans of hip hop and rap. When talking to someone I know from France, since most of the people there only speak french and are learning a little bit of english, they also dont like alot of hip hop and rap because they dont understand the words. And since most of the songs on LTTG sound really different then most of pac's work that's usually done, I think most of the people from france from ages 13 + really liked this cd alot.

And if pac were alive, I think he would acctually do songs with all current artists as well. Since that's what he did in the past. You see how in every pac song he keeps his own style but still can adapt to different ways when rapping with other people. Example, when 2pac did a song with Madonna. He did a song with an artist that he wouldnt normally do with but didn't change his style either. And imo made the track a hit.

Ok, i don't really get the point of your entire post but they like it cause it sounded different than most releases (you mean the shitty beats? They attract french people?). And i also don't get the relation to the topic. Maybe you missunderstood me a bit ;)

Yea Dominator you're right, Rahim's post has absolutely nothing to do with the topic.

But yea I noticed this too, it's most easily noticed at the beginning of DUTM when he says "I ain't got time for this man I'm out" it sounds all "metal-like".

man u forgot about the two biggest fuck ups... 1. Crooked Nigga Too and 2. Ghetto Gospel

CN2- he sped pac's voice up to sound more like twista or BTNH... lol... not humanly possible... thank God for the bonus track :)

GG- sounds like pac is hittin puberty... i whined my ass off about this song enough already...

but those songs came out to me as the worst...

Not humanly possible? Then how come I can rap along with the whole thing perfectly? Am I not human or something?

the only real problem i had with crooked was the editing... the speed wasn't *too* bad. wonder what was up with who do u love. seemed odd to make the choices em did. pretty much every song was altered in some substantial way.

FUCK LTTG... the only explination is eminem fucked it up intentionally because he makes hot beats for everyone else but pac. he did a good job on the resurrection tracks tho
the beats are by and large decent, but the problem is that they just don't fit pac's voice and themes. the only beat that was absolutely horrendous was the sideshow carnival crap, but i think the real problem was the whopping 3 days or whatever that he didicated to creating his mixes for this project... mixers on this board spend more time on thier projects for christ's sake.

I agree completely. It's not the beats that fucked up the album, it's the altering of Pac's voice. I still think Em didn't even make those beats for the album. What it seems like to me is he just had them laying around and decided to use them. LTTG would have been decent if the vocals matched the beats, with the exception of songs like "Hennessy" w/ Obie Trice. I just can't believe they actually let this album be released this way. Like you said, pretty much EVERY track Em did he fucked with the vocals. The only one I can't really tell with is "Black Cotton" but even if he didn't fuck with it, it still sounds a little off beat to me.

adlibs missin too

Eminem was trying 2 make pac sound DR era, making 2pac sound deeper in each song (voice wise not content). Take a look at "WHo do u luv" . He slightly slowed the tempo down , while fucking with the pitch to give 2pac a deeper voice .... 4 w.e reason ..

another idiotic move marshal made was having alternate versions of songs on the same album with virtually untouched vocals , which exposed him to the average 2pac fan.

Loyal to the game was fast , thugs get lonly 2 was slow ... all backwards.. Good job eminem . I wish i can produced an eminem cd and add ja rule ,benzino , take D12 out of his songs and fuck with his pitch and tempo to give him a deeper , slower , computerized voice..
