No mate, I disagree with that and so do most of the reviewers and fans, if you compare reviews of the movies.
Friday the 13th is a classic slasher flick but Nightmare on Elm Street is the better movie, though they both kind of went steady downhill after the first. The Nightmare on Elm Street series is better than the Friday the 13th one, even though it has like 72 sequels.
