Lil Wayne Gets Sued For “Dying”

Lil Wayne is reportedly being sued by pop singer Karma-Ann Swanepoel for sampling her song without permission.

According to TMZ, Lil Wayne sampled Swanepoel’s song called “Once” and used it on his song “I Feel like Dying.”

Swanepoel claims in a lawsuit which was filed in Louisiana recently that Wayne and his record label initially tried to work out a deal to use her song but despite the fact that she refused, Wayne continues to perform the song on tour and it can currently be found on MySpace and YouTube.

Swanepoel is seeking an undisclosed amount for damages.

Lil Wayne's representative refused to not comment on the suit.

Well, they never released the song on a retail project (as far as I know), so I don't see what she's suing for. On tour, you can perform whatever you want.

I think you can't make money off the sample. So the myspace thing wouldn't be a problem but performing it on tour would.
