Just wanted to say this..

Don't you just love it how Pac rips the whole track up after Ice Cube and Ice T?!?!! I mean damn, these two cats were like the top rappers of that time, both already received legendary status, and then Pac just comes in and shines all over them like Muhammed Ali in his prime!

While we're on the topic, i think 'Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z...' is so hugely underrated album that it's almost criminal! Everyone knows the singles off that album, but those songs (Keep Ya Head Up, I Get Around & Papa'z Song) are SOOO different from the other tracks on the album...

I love the Death Row era songs, but it's also a shame that the old Pac with that crazy political 'fuck you' attitude got overshadowed in the hands of time...

I recommend everybody to put 'S4MN...' into your stereo and remember Tupac Amaru Shakur, the son of a Panther.

Yep Pac Ripps This Track Fo Sure This Has Got To Be The Best West Coast Collab Imo. S4mn Is Still My Fav Album & It Was The First Pac Album I Had When I Was 11 Yrs Old. To me, it's criminal how underrated "Thug Life" is. I feel Thug Life should simply not be overlooked or slept on. Imo, "Thug Life" is pac's best album.

the strictly album is usually the favorite of the people who were listening to pac at that time, as opposed to 1995 or later. pac captured the racial and social tension in america perfectly, and the album probably has his most potent and vocused voice of them all. this street souljah theme was later diluted down in the death row days.

Completely agree. I love S4MN. I love this era in pac's music - consider it his best. I don't like pac much from his DR days, but hey that ish sells

I think AEOM is highly over-rated. Place it as his worst album hands down - among the albums he released when he was alive.

No doubt, I don't fault him for that album, plus it made him a lot larger star, so good for him at the end of the day. AEOM had some tunes, but i'll take my MATW album or S4MN if I was ever stranding on a remote island over AEOM.

...not to mention all eyez had a guest appearance on damn near every track. it's important to look at it for what it is - a very quickly produced album meant to bring pac back onto the scene from a very west coast perspective. prior to that, each album dealt with a very serious theme, and was a lot more socially aware. no fault of pac's, he delivered what was needed, but the dilution of all eyez paired with the lack of the real voice that defined pac makes it my least favorite album hands down.

like i said earlier, it really depends when you got into pac. seeing all the news unfold right at the times of the strictly and matw albums was crazy, plus watching how his thug life image was quickly twisted and turned against him by not only prosecutors, but by black leaders who had previously praised him. matw reflected that betrayl as well.

I would have loved to have been aware of Pac when he was alive. I was 11 or 12 when he died but I didnt hear of him until Changes, then I got Greatest Hits and began getting his back catalogue aswell as the posthumous albums, I have got all his albums now. I completley agree with the general topic in here Holler If Ya Hear Me and Streets R Deathrow are two more beasts.
