I have a laptop that runs in XP, Toshiba.

I've had it for 4 years, and it was new when I got it. I've taken care of it and it was running perfectly.

Since it has fallen (on a rug surface) thanks to the ppl I live with, it doesn't start. If it does (after a few trys) it will start perfectly and then within 20 mins or so, the screen will go blue and turn off or restart. or it will have fuzzy lines and die.

Any problems it could be that you guys might know?

I want to take it in to a shop but I want to know what it could be. I've never had a problem with a laptop before, and I don't want the guy at the shop to look at me and try and rip me off since I don't know much about laptops itself.

Thanks for the help. :)

If it stopped working after it fell, it's a hardware problem, probably a connection somewhere got damaged. You shouldn't try and use it until it gets fixed or you could make it worse.

yup, can be multiple causes, definitely hardware. Could be more or less serious. Hard to tell without diagnosing.

Could it be something a simple as a hard drive being dicked up? I would suggest just finding an Indian kid at school to look into it and at least diagnose it. Then come back and tell us if you need parts and then we'll find you the parts on the cheap and you just get them installed by said Indian kid.
