The funny thing is that Katy Perry used to be a hardcore Christian and released a Christian rock album on some religious label about 8 years ago under her real name.

I wasn't surprised to find out Cathy Dennis wrote this track. She's an awesome British songwriter who I remember from her own work that was released here in the UK in the late 90's, particularly her cover of 'Waterloo Sunset' by The Kinks.

She also wrote 'Toxic' for Britney.

Yeah. It seems to be more of a US phenomenon than here, you don't really see it here, not to that extent anyway.

My wife and her parents were pretty steadfast Christians when she was younger, but they were smart enough to see all the hypocrisies of the Church for what they were and kick that shit to the curb.

I wonder if Katy Perry's parents are still hardcore with the religion. That would be pretty amusing to see their reaction to this song.
