do you believe in karma, of any kind

i think its buddhists that enforce the concept of karma more than any other religion, im not a buddhist but i like a lot of buddhist principles

I like Buddhist philosophy.
Even if there's no Karma as a special power blabla but our society works in a way that if you're a jerk you'll get punished.
So it sort of works.

im not talking about a sociological concept of karma, that kind of stuff is ingrained in western philosophy - be naughty and Santa won't bring you any presents, that's what i was told and my nieces and nephews too

im talking about a universal, maybe spiritual, concept of karma, something subliminal and personal, something that transcends the boundaries of social engagement

Yup. Bad Karma really does come and bite you in the ass... even years down the road.

In a way I believe it, but I don't know. I believe in it about as much as Murphy's Law.

I have done bad things in my life, but I have done more good things. And it seems like I'm never repaid for the good, but always for the bad. Ive been giving, just not been getting in return.

Murphy's Law is kicking my ass though. Everything that can go wrong, is going wrong.

I believe in Karma in a certain sense. The whole idea that whatever good you do comes back to you and vice versa is one that can often be true for people. However, that truth is not determined by some supreme being who has instilled karma into the world, but derives out of actions and behaviors.

For example, it is more likely that a good natured, caring, humble person who goes out of her way day after day to help people will find herself bestowed with a similar good fortune, whether it be from others who want to reward her or perhaps a benevolent feeling of accomplishment and self-worth for the good she has done in the world. The same can be said about bad deeds.

what if you do something that's good and it gets misentepreted as 'bad', here lies controversy, is there some higher power that overcomes this type of karma, i wonder ...

Well, yeah, your conscience. That's the only higher power you need to look to and rely on when everyone says you're wrong.
