Their signed marriage license was filed last Friday in Scarsdale, New York, according to sources.
The superstar couple, who began dating in 2002, was widely reported to have exchanged nuptials on April 4th, but neither star has yet to publicly acknowledge they are man and wife - even refusing to wear wedding rings when out in public.
However, sources reveal the newlyweds have now sent in their signed license, which lists the wedding date as April 4th, to the Scarsdale Town office - albeit more than a week after the April 9th deadline.
But according to Scarsdale Town Clerk Donna Conkling, the loved-up stars will not face a penalty for the late filing, as the fine is frequently waived for new couples.
On April 1, they "applied for a marriage license," says Conkling. "They were very low-key and weren't dressed up," she says. "They did not have a large entourage."
They took the license home that day, Conkling says, to have their hush-hush April 4 NYC wedding.
They signed the document and mailed it in after the ceremony.
"We received it back on Friday," adds Conkling.
