i agree that if u need to use drugs to boost your ego or if u need drugs to have fun... then yes something is wrong with you. but drugs are not bad... having an addiction to the drugs are bad. needing drugs for those reasons and more are bad. You hav to understand that there is no way you can reach such peaks without drugs... and frankly how can one really know themselves if they have never reached the peaks that e gives u. How can one know themselves with the depression that e gives u. How can one know abstract if u haven't tried acid. Life is about experiencing... drugs give u experiences beyond your wildest dreams. I'm not saying that you should live your life doing drugs... not at all. I don't think people should dismiss it though if they haven't tried it. If you're goign to become addicted to drugs and if your only going to be happy if you're on drugs then you have serious psychological issues which u need to adress. Dependencies are fucked. If you can't control urself then it doesn't matter if your on drugs or not. ur life is useless anyway.
Wow. I don't mean any disrespect but that was seriously a pretty dumb post. You're suggesting that the only way a person can know his true self is by messing with his brain. The emotions you'll experience on e has nothing to do with who you are and you know that, they're adding something to you that isn't naturally a part of you so what you experience on those trips have nothing to with who you are, they're about what they make you. I'm not sayin don't do drugs cus that would be hypocritical of me, but please don't try to glorfy it as some eye-opening spiritual experience.Salar said:

I think there is always a lack of something which leads you into an addiction. but thats just my impression, and im not even 100% sure about it. Just what crossed my mind when i read the posts.

the most mentally healthy person on earth could get addicted to drugs. yeah a person woh is on depression or something alike or has mental illness will get addicted easily, but everybody can get addicted.
as for having to try drugs in your life, that its an experience to live. i think that everybody should be able to have fun without alcohol, ecstasy, weed, speed, cocaine, heroine, etc. that stuff fucks your brain like it or not. maybe not enough damage that it shows, but it will still always damage a little bit each time you use them. if you can't have a normal life without drugs or can't party without drugs, then you are fucked. i think drugs are wrong even if i sometimes do them.

as for everyone else. i went to school for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor and drugs do things to the body and the brain that are not good whether used in moderation or abused. it's the same as alcohol, it kills your liver over time whether drank in moderation or abused. i drink and i know the consequences, alcoholism runs in my family i was an alcoholic at one time, i drank to not feel the pain and i was always drinking. now i have learned to control myself and drink in moderation if i feel like i'm starting to abuse it again, i stop!
in my opinion it is wrong to say that you will never find who you really are if you don't try drugs. i've never touched one illeagal drug in my life and i know exactly who i am. i went through alot of other hard times in my life to realize who i am. i watched my father be addictted to drugs, beat me and i went through emotional abuse from a boyfriend. so to me that showed me who i am and how strong i can be!
