I think when he posted it, I think his intentions were to say the "hiphop/rapper wannabe" type of shit. I dont think he meant it in a technical way..u know?

I thought you knew what he meant, but was picking out the technicality.

sidenote: u know u cant quote more than one person PER post? and respond to all of them in one post.
Sure man, Pittsey is one of the most dudes I respect here so this isn't an attack on him. But I simply want to make the point that DrugBa11ad had already made. You can NOT act black, you can NOT act white. Sure there is a stereotype placed on having a certain skin pigmentation, but stereotypes are presumptions, judgmental and in most cases untrue. There is no way to act black.

To "act black" or "white", is to try to adopt anothers culture. But when a person tries to do this they always some how adopt the sterotypes of that particular race.

Race and culture runs parallel with each other, this should be common knowledge. It is not that we're trying to be another race but to have another culture. If I'm trying Hindu culture you'd immediately think I was trying to be Indian. Same with Native-American.

But we should draw that line to where a white boy adopting hip-hop is not trying to be black. Hip-hop is a subculture of African-American culture. This is where we get the assumption he's trying to be black.

I personally believe that a 'culture/uniqueness' of a race should always be with that particular people, it brings much more beauty and diversity to the world. But it is that subcultures that I believe should be neutral, eliminating all racial associations. Of course, this usually happens over time.

I probably wasn't too specific. But you should get what I'm saying.

I don't think anyone can call Eminem a wigger. Wigger refers to someone acting like they're black but Eminem grew up in a predominantly black environment. It's kinda like if you're let's say, chinese or indian and grow up in north america. If you don't really identify yourself with your ancestral heritage you would consider yourself to me american or canadian.

the definition of a wigger is very simple...

it is a person who is white, who idolizes his own racist beliefs of what he has quantified black culture to be. the wigger believes that is he acts like the sterepotypical black image that he believes in, then black people will welcome him into their culture. the truth of the matter is that neither black or white folk will ever welcome the wigger and they will forever be an outcast (all the while thinking they are cool).

the wigger is more of a racist than those of us who label him as such. the wigger believes that black culture is the same across person and region, and that all black people are a certain way - they all listen to hip hop, they all dress in baggy clothes, and they are uneducated clowns. while the wigger is trying to give props to black culture and gain an entry to it, he is actually just as racist and pathetic as the redneck who hates blacks. the difference is that the redneck wears his hate as a badge of honor, so you can see where he stands at all times; while the wigger is a confused moron who idolozes the same people he has created racist generalizations about.

that being said, are you a wigger?
One could say that your ability to distinguish a "wigger" stems from your own racist generalizations that you have created.

So, I should look at and admire the burrito, but not eat it? Is that what you're saying? Correct me if I'm wrong.

lol You read it so literal. Far from what I was saying. How could you even say that with this said:

Obviously, its for you to enjoy fully. What I really was saying tho, you wouldn't want the whole world to be following one culture. It would become so bland if the only thing you ate was Mexican food and listened to Latin music everyday. Fortunately we have soul food, italian food, chinese food, and etc.

The way you phrased this seemed like that's what you were saying. However, you weren't specific enough, so whatever. I'm glad you explained yourself.

I agree with this:

a) A white person imitating a stereotype black person. This comments on the white person's fake persona. When you call someone a wigger, you're saying they're fake. That is the main thought behind it. This is why white people that do not hate their own race will sometimes also use this word. The race of the white person is mentioned but it is not attacked so there is no racism involved. What is there to be offended about? Do you cry every time someone is called fake?
Honestly what comes to mind when you see this picture?

I will say though a White person can represent Hip Hop culture and NOT be considered a wigga.

It's hypocritical to point to someone and accuse them of "imitating a stereotype black person" just because you feel that's what they're doing. Just because someone wears baggy jeans and a do-rag doesn't mean they've woken up one morning and said "Ya know what? I'm gonna act more like 'black people' act". Labelling certain behaviours as "black stereotypes", and criticising any white person who participates in those behaviours, is just as bad as buying into the stereotypes in the first place.

If someone is being "fake" then fine, they deserve to be criticised. However, calling someone a wigger is like calling a black person who plays golf an Uncle Tom/House Nigger/Carlton Banks because you think they're trying to emulate stereotypical "white" behaviour.

It's all how you act, it's not just based on your apperance. It's based on your attitude and if it's crooked. If anything if they are trying to be like the sterotypes that speaks even louder bout them as a person. Good post though homie

You can tell the difference between someone who is just being themselves and someone who is putting on an act. To me 9 times out of 10 its obvious. It doesnt just come down to the way they dress.

that made me cringe a little too...

look, people are trying to delve too far into the devil's advocate. the simple heart of the matter is does tommy wake up and consciously alter his appearance and speech with the intention to fit in as a member of a group not native to him? if so, perhaps some deeper thought is in order. no?

Fake people are frowned upon period. Wigga is just another way of calling someone fake. People aren't called wiggas just cause of how they dress and such, it's there attitude and most of the time it's a foul one.
