ah, hopefully someoen can help me out here.

I'm sure you guys have seen movies like Black Hawk Down, Hotel Rwanda, etc. Where some type of african music comes on, with a few vocals, or just plain instrumental. Well does anybody know who has music like this?

thank you in advanced.
Havent seen either movies, but some African music that comes to mind is:

- Deep Forest (I have this album, but you can download it here: http://www.mp3shits.com/full/download/Deep_Forest_-_Deep_Forest_mp3/28030/).

- Youssou D'Nour (who's from Senegal - www.youssou.com) .

- or the CDs you can get with various artists through Putumayo World Music (http://www.putumayo.com/).

Oh, lol. That's pretty cool. I love his stuff. I think he came to Aus last year, or maybe that was Bally Sagoo (one of them. cant remember)... Do you know him well or was that just a once off gig? Probably a good contact to have, doing something with his beats would be awesome.

Yeah, I know him well, always see him around at gigs and stuff. I don't think I would work with him though, his sound is more like "world music" with indian styles, my band's sound is more nu-metal with indian sounds, like Linkin Park/Rage but with indian sounds thrown in the mix...

I mix, produce, listen to bhangra music. More into old school punjabi music; Manak, Chamkila, Yamala Jatt, Siddiq. Usually mixed with hiphop tunes, blends quite nice. Burns gud to a spliff too. I also listen to some jamacain tunes, lotta marley shit. I have alot of tracks. given to me by friends so I dun really know the name of them tracks but alot of them jamacain tunes are hard.

Some of my favorite croatian songs, I'm more into the older ones than the newer shit. How Hizzle knows more newer singers and groups like Goran Karan. lol

Ruza Hrvatska - Prljavo Kazaliste
Pijanica - Vuco
Volim piti I ljubiti - Vuco
Golubica Bijela - Milo Hrnic
Drugi joj raspliće kosu, a ja je volim - Mišo Kovač
Ako Odem Prijatelji - Zlatko Pejakovic

For different countries.

Bam bam - Gypsy Kings
Bamboleo - Gypsy Kings
El Mariachi - Gypsy Kings

Those are my fave from the gypsy kings.

I have no idea wo Goran Karan is...

meh I love music from Ex-Yu, minus the Folklore songs...it sucks...

I love Bjelo Dugme, Bajaga, Dino Merlin... meh...i'm too lazy to type the rest
