In-Depth Listening: Week 1 Voting

#21
Soul Food is the perfect choice for in-depth listening. I hope that wins. Hopefully it'll at least be an album that has substance and content both in lyrics and beats. Not just an east coast album with battle rhymes over simple loops.

What a great idea, propz to Roaches.

Here's my three. Not necessarily ones I like.

1. Ms Dynamite - A little deeper
2. Ras Kass - Van Gogh
3. Cube - Death Certificate

Results:
* A couple of ballots were disqualified (I told you motherfuckers not to repeat your nominations verbatim for your votes)
* We have a tie for first place
* None of the disqualified ballots would've settled the tie
* Instead of discussing the 1st and 3rd place winners, we'll just discuss the two first place winners.

Top three:
Aquemini: 19 votes
Death Certificate: 19 votes
The Diary: 15 votes

Since I love chronological order, we'll discuss Death Certificate first. We will discuss Aquemini next week.

If you voted and you don't have a copy of Death Certificate (shame on you) and you can't find one through your normal means, PM me and I'll do what I can. If you didn't vote and want to participate, find a copy on your own. Soulseek, Usenet, IRC, or even buy a copy (it's a great album, they reissued a remastered version of it in 2003 with some bonus cuts as well).
