This is the company that I work for and it's the worst:(

Listen to my sad, sad story. . .

I'm a teller at Bank One/Chase and I've only been in this position for a year.

Well, at this company, after every year you can move into a new position, so instead of the management giving you a raise and/or a promotion, you can search our intranet for internal positions and apply online.

So basically, after every year you can get a promotion.

So I applied to the next position up which is the Customer Service position and the manager loved me and wants me for the Asst. Manager position.

Well, my current manager is a asshole and not only is he upset about the promotion that doesn't affect him in any way, but he told other people here that he would make sure that I don't get it.

What a jerk! ! ! !

So, what should I do? I haven't heard anything about the promotion yet as to whether I got it or not, but I only went on my second interview yesterday.

I'm just so upset because I knew I would've gotten it if not for this guy being a hater..

Any thought my internet friends?

Deal with it the America way: shoot 'em up!! :)

Or you can just grin & bear it. :(

Either way, don't forget to dance.....*moonwalks*

I'm not your friend, I'm more of a collegue.

On a serious note, you can report any unfair discrimination. I'd do that, you gonna let a punk ruin your chances? Take him down while you have the opportunity.

why would your manager say that? be honest, don't say he hates you for no reason. you turn him down?

LMAO, no :(

The tellers and Ast. Manager do basically the same job. The only difference is in pay.

Well, we have an overpaid Asst. Manager who's a total valley girl and needless to say a complete idiot.

Well even though she can't perform on the job, she can perform off the job (hint, hint)

So, as lead teller I do all of her work, but he doesn't have to pay me more because I'm only a teller. So if he loses me, he loses his free ride.

There's so much BS going on here, it's ridiculous

Did you start working there before the merger, and if so, which company were you with, Bank One or JP Morgan/Chase?

Wait. . .
That didn't help cheer me up
awww

kill your boss, its the only solution

your in chicago, so go find Al Kapone, im sure hes still around

well you just had your 2nd interview. so maybe you should wait it out for a few days. you may still hear something. does your company touch base with their employees that they interview to let them know if they got the job or not? if they don;t you can always ask around or ask the person who interviewed you if they can let you know whats up or if there was anything you did wrong in your interview that kept you from getting the job. and if you really think your manager is the person keeping you from getting the job, you should report him to someone. but make sure its not based on speculation

I was here before the actual merge and I was employed by Bank One at first.

Why?

granted that your boss isn't an ex-football player, i'd actually consider kicking his ass if you asked it of me. i hate shit like this. you know like in movies where there is always this one really stupid chick that almost fucks up for everyone? that old woman in speed 1 who tries to get off the bus then gets run over cause there was a little mini-bomb under the buss by the door and shit first comes to mind. "i can't be here". you know when you wish you could just enter the scene and kill that person.. that sick, wish-you-could-do-something-knowing-you-can't anger. well i get that when i hear stories like yours.
