I was here before the actual merge and I was employed by Bank One at first.

Why?

Cause I know ppl who worked for Bank One and I never heard of not giving an annual raise. Maybe it's a Chase thing. And can't you post internal at any time during the year? You made it sound like only when your annual comes up are you allowed to post. That would be strange if true.

Anyway, a lot of interviewers know that managers who don't want to lose a good worker, will give a less than great recommendation. Especially, if there's nothing in your record that's negative. No warnings or anything.

Yeah, after you move to a new postion, you have to stay in that position for a year and that's the same with Bank one and Chase

I'm a teller at Bank One/Chase and I've only been in this position for a year.

Well, at this company, after every year you can move into a new position, so instead of the management giving you a raise and/or a promotion, you can search our intranet for internal positions and apply online.

So basically, after every year you can get a promotion.

So I applied to the next position up which is the Customer Service position and the manager loved me and wants me for the Asst. Manager position.

Well, my current manager is a asshole and not only is he upset about the promotion that doesn't affect him in any way, but he told other people here that he would make sure that I don't get it.

What a jerk! ! ! !

So, what should I do? I haven't heard anything about the promotion yet as to whether I got it or not, but I only went on my second interview yesterday.

I'm just so upset because I knew I would've gotten it if not for this guy being a hater..

Any thought my internet friends?

this kinda happened to me but my boss wasn't being nasty about it he just didn't really wanna lose me cus I was doing well for him etc so your case is a bit different really. i wouldn't worry too much because basically if its going around the office that he said that then it could work in your favour, as the interviews have to be fair, so if everyone has wind that he is slagging you off and you don't get the promotion then you can question that their decision was affected by the rumours going round the place.

you said that they loved you so i really doubt what your boss has to say will matter, if you were that bad then why is your boss still employing you in the first place? plus i'm sure that they realise your boss may be saying this because he has bad feelings that you wanna further yourself and subsequently leave his team.

sinceu just had ur 2nd interview, u might wanna wait and see what happens. maybe ask whats happening. but dont let ur manage ruin ur chance. plus if u have nothing negative on ur records, i dont see why u cant get the job. yeah they'll use ur manager as a valuable reference, but so is ur record.

anyways u cant do much about that except trying to find out if u got that new job or not.

Too bad you're not friends with Pennypacker. Unlike other people, I don't make empty threats and I always keep things clean. When I need to battle things out with people, I do what's best: get the people you don't like in legal trouble. But before you do that, make sure everything can be worked out in a civil manner.

I wrote a letter to my boss complaining about her attitude. Within seconds of reading the letter, her entire attitude changed and she no longer treats me the way she did before. If she tries to change back to her old self, she won't know what's coming. I have dirt on her that could possibly land her in jail. I am not kidding.

At the moment, I am writing a letter for someone that's directed to his boss. We'll see what happens. The purpose is to get him a raise, a well deserved one. If he does not play by the rules, I always have a few things for him. If the district manager heard of the stories I have to tell, let's just say the manager's seat will be vacant before a new manager can be found.

I am nice and I expect others to be nice as well. If they're not nice, something may show up in their inbox.
