Pretty Much you act as a manager, you create a player, add his attributes depending on which position you pick, get drafted by a team, and play away, games are played every 2 days sometimes you might get a scrimage and play 3 games in a row, but the more playing time the more experience you player gets, the more attributesd he gets, and the better he gets, you can move up to even owning your own team.
