I would have to return it because my conscience would bother me too much for that massive amount of money. Also, seeing how the majority of people don't walk around with that much cash on them, it's safe to assume that the money is for a specific purpose and that person or persons would be diligent in trying to recover the lost cash. And it's not like you'd get nothing out of it - you'd probably get a substantial reward.

i dont know why some one would place it all in a Wallet but just same if it happens to be some where no one around i know know could be theirs or a product someone & no I.D I would keep the shit if its got ID I will get it back to the person

if the wallet had cash in it but no ID then i would keep the cash; who could I give it back to? If there was ID documentation in it I would probably see what I could do to get it back to its owner.

If it was a chicks purse and she had her drivers licence in with her address and picture, and she was good looking. I would take it to her house and give it back to her.

I'd mail that wallet (with id's and credit cards etc.) to the owner but I would keep the money as a price for founding it.
I'm sure owner having 30k in his wallet would feel bad for losing not his money but his cards and ids.

I got the question from a news story. It wasn't a wallet it was a box and the person returned it.
