B4 suge signed pac he had the best rap label by far he had dr dre, snoop, the dog pound, rage, doc, and a couple female r&b singers all at there best. Then he signed tupac and all of a sudden suge had to jump in a public beef with bad boy records and he had to take on all the new beef and problems that tupac (fresh outta prison) brought on. I remeber reading in a artcile that said tupac was responsible for dr dre being kicked out of the row. Then to top it off suge involved himself with the fight in vegas that tupac started and for that he was incarcerated for like 8 years all cause of tupac not to mention he got shot in the head for a beef pac seems to have started.

I think pac was a bad influence on suge, I think pac influenced suge to neglect other artists and put the focus on him. I think its obviouse if pac never came to the row suge would still have his empire.

First of all, i think Pac's signing to the Row had more to do with the fact that Suge had beef with Puffy over a friend's death, and he knew that Pac also had beef with Puff. Pac didn't force Suge into the beef, he was already in it. and if anything, i think it was the other way around, Suge negatively influenced Pac. but at the end of the day they were both grown men who made their own decisions and suffered the consequences of their actions

I never looked at it at that perspective.

Im not sure if i beleive it but u have a point lol..

wasnt suge already dissing puffy at the source awards in 95? it wasnt like he had to take on all the beef that 2pac had, suges capable of starting his own beef

If that's true Suge could've just told Pac to stop dissing Bad Boy just like Dre tells Eminem not to diss Suge... but wait a minute, Dre's a bitch for censoring Eminem's disses, right?

It's just like when people say Pac should'nt have beat down Orlando.. they would've called him a bitch if he didn't. You can never make people happy.

pac took deathrow to its pinnacle the fact of the matter y deathrow got fucked is because suge made bad decision and other artist werent getting paid so they left.If anybody was a bad influnce it was suge. After all pac was the one who died on deathrow

preaching to the wrong crowd but you come with a good argument... but i do believe that dre left the label to start aftermath on his own?? correct me if i'm wrong...

good arguments though... kept me reading :thumb:

Dre left Deathrow cuz 'Pac was cursin everyone in the industry, he didnt want to be associated with that. Dre was shot once at a party, in his leg or arm i think and he quoted that after that he really cooled his shit down. The thought of going into a "label war" with half the industry didnt appeal to him. He just wanted to produce some hits. Someone as talented as Dre shouldnt be part of a turning wheel, but he should be the wheel itself. And thats what he did, and look at Aftermath now - 3 years ago he was the highest paid aretist/celebrity generating 50 million dollars in 12 months! He wouldnt of got that with Deathrow. They didnt need him anyway, 'Pac was running the show now.

When Dre said:

"When 'Pac came to Deathrow i knew it was time to leave" - Its because he knew 'Pac was coming for a reason, and it werent just to turn out a few record, but to settle some scores

The death of deathrow no doubt was an aftershock of 'Pacs death, everything revolved around him at that point - they didnt prepare for his death as a company.

Peace

Dr. Dre did NOT leave Death Row solely because of Pac. He was one of the reasons, but there were other things that perpetuated the situation before Pac. Those existing problems just sped up the process.

As you guys know, Dre was very much a big part of Death Row in the beginning, especially since he was happy to be out of the situation with Ruthless Records. But after the beef, Eazy-E's death, and his legal problems (specifically his drunk-driving incident in his Ferrari when he led police on a high-speed chase), he realized that he had outgrown the Death Row image and all the stuff associated with it, so he had less of a desire to keep putting out music for them. As a result of that, he started working at his own studio rather than at Can-Am, plus he took longer to make beats. And Death Row, caught up in its obsession with being the most unfuckwithable label on every level, was known to physically discipline people for not meeting deadlines or making mistakes, and Dre wasn't down with that. Plus once Pac, the studio prodigy, was part of the crew, acting as the opposite of Dre (putting out several songs daily, always hanging out with everybody, interested in blowing up the Death Row name), Dre only felt more isolated, and in his isolation he got attacked for something that Death Row perpetuated.

True, true - but it was the tip-over point. Gettin' out of a DR contract was tough! Just like any other label, but it had ugly consequences.
So Dre see's the perfect time to leave, soon as 'Pac gets signed and very quickly becomes the main attraction - giving more meaning to the term "All Eyes On Me". Dre was a major contributor to the label early on, yes. But he still wanted out. He didnt like the way shit was run, and knew he could run his own label in a more "humanitariun" way without being associated with something as controversial as DR.

So when 'Pac arrived it was only a matter of time 'til Dre departed. He still got a hard time for leaving but he got away easy considering.

So realistically you could say 'Pac gave Dre the chance to break out and go fuck with his own shit. Quite funny when you look at it like that isnt it?

Peace

if anyone ruined Suge Knight and Death Row, it was Suge himself. if he had paid the artists the money they were owed, guys like Snoop, Daz, DOC, RBX and them wouldn't have left. remember, Suge ripped off pretty much every artist on the label, even Pac. Pac's death and Dre leaving, that was only the beginning of something that was inevitably going to happen anyway. if Suge had run the company right, and not been so greedy, DR might still be on top of the business today. so blame Suge, not Pac

The thought of going into a "label war" with half the industry didnt appeal to him.

Dre was dissing Bad Boy along with the rest of them. On footage of the Cali Love video shoot, you can hear him repeating "Biggie who?" Besides, Dre stayed on the label well after Death Row dissed Bad Boy at the awards show.

Then to top it off suge involved himself with the fight in vegas that tupac started and for that he was incarcerated for like 8 years all cause of tupac not to mention he got shot in the head for a beef pac seems to have started.

I can't believe someone is saying Pac started the beef with Orlando Anderson. Are we blaming Pac for the Bloods and Crips now? That's even more hilarious considering Suge's position with the Mob Pirus.
