"I mean, the bartender got $100 for keeping the ice cubes cold."

Restaurants can't afford to pay a lot of money to the waiters. They barely stay afloat as it is. Even in the REALLY fancy restaurants most of the waiters get paid minimum.

Usually, whatever the bill is me and my friends just double it. We like to joke and make friends with the waiter waitress, get em laughin out of their ordinary fakeness of being nice all the time and saying fuck like they really want too. Sometimes they just come sit with us for like 15 mintues, kind of weird but its cool, free drinks whenever we go back next, but we like to tip.

Ha, almost forgot, its happened twice now, the waitress will ask me for my number as a tip, thats tight.

^Go see the movie waiting, even if its not true it will make you want to tip.

Why would I want to go see a movie that will make me lose money to the theater, and then even in the cold, outside world?

"waiting..." is a great movie. reminds me of my days as a waiters assistant(over paid busboy)

sofi you can rent it, it came out on dvd about a month ago. its really funny.

Why should i pay someone for doing their job? That's the employers job, i'm not giving the owner profit on a meal AND paying their staff's wages. Besides, all they have to do is write down an order and take it to the bar or kitchen, you want more money? Get a skilled job.

If i ever tip for a meal it's cos i know the waiter/waitress (or she's hot) or i tip the chef directly with a drink or £££, after all he's the one that cooked the food and if the foods shit then you wouldn't be tipping anyone anyway.

If everyone took your advice their would be no one left to be waiters. Someone has to fill the position.

Really? Aren't you a sharp one? I ain't rewarding them for their lack of ambition. Don't worry though Kami, if you remember i like my JD on the rocks, i'll throw you a dollar. Maybe.

I guess you've never been a server. Anyone that says "all they have to do is write down an order and take it to the bar or kitchen" doesn't know what he's talking about. :)
