i just realized that snoop dogg and common are pretty much irrelevant.

As in, no one gives a shit about their new music.

common no.
How do you figure?

Neither has any buzz. They're emeritus status. They've been on autopilot their past couple of albums with no songs that made any kinda impact or lasting power.

I'm not mad at either of em (well, now that I think about it, Common is a dirty disappointing whore), it just is what it is.

I totally agree. I didn't even bother to check Snoop's last album out. I found out about his single after 3 million rappers rapped on it.

I thought that it's just me not giving a fuck about Snoop's music as my taste changed. I thought he's still popular. I was never a big fan of Common.

Snoop's been on auto-pilot? True, but at least he's making more noise than some rappers that are trying.

"Gangsta Luv" and "I wanna Rock" have been getting mad play though on the radio.

Common never had buzz. But if u mean he fell off lyrically and even lost his 'regular underground buzz' then yah, he did.

Truth is: Rap fell off, period.

Common fell the fuck off for me completely when I heard em on Kid Cudi's shit...

I wouldnt have cared if anyone else did that verse but, how u go from being mister super conscious to spitting that shit?

"A stripper from the south looking for a payday, I said Bitch u should do it for the love like Ray Jay.. But they say, u be on that conscious tip, get ya head right and get up on this conscious dick"... for real? c'mon son.. who u trying to fool.

Call me crazy, but I think only 3 people are capable of bringing back hip-hop b/c it shows that they influence each other TOO much.

T.I. (Ya, that's y i said to call me crazy).

Dre

Eminem (If he raps well).

Maybe he still gets love in Cali, but where I am right now (D.C.) I haven't heard him on the radio at all since "Sexual Seduction."

On the I Wanna Rock remix Jay-Z said he was better than Biggie. If people were still checking for Snoop songs the sheer audacity would've spread like wildfire among heads.

That's how you know hip hop fell off.
Plenty of awards aren't televised. Who gives a fuck about an award bestowed by 60+ year/old white guys?

And for what it's worth, they closed out the show with a performance by Eminem, Lil' Wayne, and Drake.

I disagree.

If most heads check the blogs and the forums, and I assume they do, then there is no way they didn't come across the remix. Now, if they didn't catch the line "no biggie", it's more because they didn't care to listen to Jigga, not because they didn't care to listen to Snoop. The first time I heard the song was when I saw the Jigga remix and was like "I gotta hear this".

You're crazy. There, I said it.
