Just wondering since i'm thinking of moving to the US next year. I reckon i'll need a job. I'm thinking of going somewhere like Boston!

Is it hard? How will one get one? How's the whole finding a job thing in the US? I would've finished my degree by the time i actually move. I'm studying IT and i honestly don't care what i get into, something that will be a career oppurtunity.

I think it's time for me to start fresh!

I'm also looking at countries like singapore. If anyone has info on that too, let me know.

Contact the US embassy or consulate in your country.Same thing with Singapore.Shit man, if you make it in Singapore!Come back and give devils_advok8 a couple of millions to straighten his life up!

You apply for a U.S job from wherever you're living now. Then when you get a letter from the employer that they will hire you, that's when you apply for the working visa.Other things are considered in determining in you getting the visa.Use google and search for the info, its out there with all the details.

Yes if you have a job it's easier to get a visa. In fact I think it's pretty hard to get a VISA if u noone already hired you.

i dont even think you can if u dont get hired

that's what I mean with "It's kina hard"

No there are ways like if u marry someone from the US you'l lget a greencard etc - but to be realistic, you need a job first, then go and get the visa. (often, if they really really want you, they'll take care that u get your visa)

oh i was talking strictly working visa. of course theres other ways to get a visa to the U.S without needing to have a job.

Investing,buying property,marrying an american citizen,student visa,etc...

Well my cousin from Mexico, got one, he doesn't have a degree but he does have a good position in the company which sent him to Alaska, so they gave him like a 500 page book of "recomendations" to the interview, and he got it easy. So i guess your studies would also make it easier for you...i suppose.

You probably won't have too hard of a time since you're coming from australia. It's easier for you to find and job first and let them sponsor you, most jobs will ask you if you need sponsorship prior to actually hiring you and they'll help you out.

Also, most universities will help you get a Visa as well.

Here is a link to a site that should give you more information on the process though, hope it helps :p

Come on over to Silicon Valley here in California. Look at webpages like www.careerbuilder.com www.hotjobs.com www.monster.com

It will give you an idea to what openings company have and what you are looking for.

You need to be of some use to the US. For example, if you're a really good automechanic, you have a good chance. :)
