Now back to the thread...
It's definitely a massive tragedy, but as always there's two sides to the story. How many 911 callls are hoaxes? It's more than one or two, it's probably hundreds if not thousands per year. The operator obviously had experienced hoax call before and mae the wrong decision due to that. Most people would.
It was mentioned why not send an someone over anyway and if it was a hoax tell the kid off? Well picture this scenario. What if it WAS a hoax and the snet someone over. Meanwhile somewhere else, a seriously injured person dies due to the emergency services being sent over to the hoax call. Then people would complain about the operator being and idiot for listening to a three year old kid. So she's fucked either way. And being realistic, the above scenario has probably happened, and these experiences, and here information on the situation, lead to the operator making the decision she made.
I think the real problem is all the cunts making hoax calls. If these idiots didn't do what they do, then guarenteed this trajedy wouldn't have happened (or at least the emergency services be sent earlier).
Of course anything you make is going to be easier on your ears than anybody elses. lol wow...not 2 mention your shit is usually produced/mixed by somebody else - which is why your Dame Grease recording sounded like complete trash, cuz you don't know how to mix.Diaz said:Naw, i'm actually more upset that I've only recorded 4 tracks and they're all easier on the ears than what you put out. I don't know why that upsets me but it does.
It's not like one cop goes and investigates every call by himself, there are more than one, obviously. So why not send one over, there are other cops to handle the other jobs.Taliq said:It was mentioned why not send an someone over anyway and if it was a hoax tell the kid off? how could a kid call for help ? it was smart enough to dial 911 and call again after nobody showed up.
you could argue the kid should have called a relative or gone over to the neighbours ... but keep in mind, its 5(?) fucking years. it clearly is the operators fault. operator is in charge and has the responsibility.[/QOUTE]
I'm not sure what you're implying here. Are you saying because the kid was dialled 911 it is automatically the operators fault, based n the fact that 6 year olds (I checked the original report) aren't smart enough to dial 911? That really doesn't make sense. I've got a 2 1/2 year old cousin who can ring the emergency services (its 999 here) and act like its a joke and also use my mobile phone. Kids aren't stupid. Sure the operator made a mistake, but I doubt that mistake was out of malice or out of total incompetence. There may have been circumstances (eg a lot of hoax calls in the past) that made dismissing a 6 year old calling her that much easier.

It was in Detroit, where, so I've heard there is a lot of cirme going on. Now I don't know how big in personnel the emergency services are, but in most large cities they are stretched at the best of times.
I'm not saying she wasn't to blame in some part, but there are other factors hat have to be taken into account.
