Okay so my Sony MD-V150 headphones were pretty good for their price but they were awkward to carry in bags, eventually wore out and hurt my ears and are now malfunctioning with the sound from the Right speaker.

I'm currently looking at headphones within the £30 price range and I've come across the following:

Sennheisser PX100
Sennheisser PX200-II
Sennheisser HD 250

I'm not so sure which one to get. I tried the PX100 briefly in store today and it was decent, but the bass wasnt as deep as the Sony ones. Might need to adjust some of the audio settings on my phone. Any ideas? Thanks.

PX100s. HD250 won't work as good with your phone. PX200 is basically an inferior, "city" version of PX100.

PX100s are very well balanced. They are not overbassed but they deliver proper bass when you want them to. They are nicely foldable which makes them a perfect travel companion. Personally I use them and I love them. I recommended them to a few friends, and Sofi, and they're all happy with them.

Aren't the PX200s a closed ear version of the PX100 that blocks out more outside sound?

I don't have an iDevice, but I saw the iPod/iPhone version of the PX100 (the PX100-IIi) for cheaper than the normal version. Is there any difference beside the fact that the PX100-IIi has a Smart remote and a mic to control iPhones?

PX100-II:

To be honest I have no idea about the Iphone version.

Yes, PX200 are meant to be the closed ear version of the PX100 BUT in the end they aren't too good at blocking outside noise, instead they add an extra layer of material that separates your ears from the speaker, resulting in flatter sound. PX100 are better.

Just bought the PX100-II from Pixmania for £29.90. I was considering the iDevice-optimised version but did some research and it turns out that this version has a poor quality mic and only some features work on non-iDevices. So although its £29.90 on Amazon (and is worth more than the PX100-II) - what's the point?

Thanks.

i'm not too sure, but the blue over ear ones i tested in HMV were awful with a crackling sound. not sure if thats the hardware itself or whether that one on display was dodgy. I'd recommend over ear ones if you'd consider them. I'd say always read the negative reviews.

Beats by Dre. Best ever. All the rest are shit.

Beats sound shit, but look nice. But you can't buy them because all the fashionista wannabes with their "cool" gadgets have them plugged into their iphones/... :)

Masta... Any Sports ones?

Well, I'm not an expert on that type of headphones and I always wore casual ones for light sports. I suppose here it's more about checking which are comfortable for you, since they tend to fall off for me.
