Took me 4 hours to download the beta and 4 minutes to realize it fucking sucks.

Seriously. If they dont fix this thing, epic fail.

Weapons ALL seem weak. You need to melee, melee, melee and shoot to kill someone with a melee attack as apposed to two melee's before. The health system feels like a major step backwards and the jet packs make it feel like an old version of Unreal Tournament. It's terrible.

im hearing nothing but good things about this. and from the video i saw of the campaign i reckon ill buy this when it comes out.

I too was very disappointed in the beta. I thought it was utter shit and the fact that they made classes is just dumb. Jetpacks? Please.

Halo has been shit post-Halo 3. I don't expect this to be much different. I guess Halo Wars was decent, although I never played it all the way through. ODST's multiplayer got boring after a while. Firefight?

Quick question, is Reach supposed to be another digression from the storyline, like ODST, or is it truly Halo 4?

^ I think that Halo: Reach tells the story before Halo began or something along those ways.

I was never a fan of Halo games. I played Halo 1, 2 and 3 and stopped playing after a mission or two in each case.

I still don't know what Halo's about. I just play the campaign to shoot and kill while skipping the scenes.

And, of course, the multiplayer. Halo 3 will always have a place in my heart on Live.

So Halo Reach is not "Halo 4?" Like I mentioned earlier, it sounds like another stupid side-quest game, like ODST. But IGN has given it a 9.5. ODST got a 9.0 on Gamespot. So I guess the story, if you follow it, is great. But all I care about is online multiplayer.

^^i saw a video of the campaign and i must say i was impressed. there seems to be much more variation in the gameplay. there are levels where you control space craft and go around shooting down enemy ships.

I'll probably just play this at a friend's house and see if the MP is any good. I did the same with ODST and beat the campaign on co-op with a friend. Never looked back. Firefight got boring after a while too. And were the bonus maps for Halo 3 even worth it?

Never was into the MGS series.

Seems like most of my friends on Live have it and are enjoying it. I only know of one real friend that has it, although another played it today and said he'll get it at some point. Another is planning on buying it as well.

I just can't help but feel that it's another ODST, in terms of story (which I don't follow, but the deviance from the main story line with three Halo releases is just dumb) and the multiplayer, which I played earlier this year, was also pretty lame. Maybe I'll warm up to it if I play it for real at a friend's house now. I'm sure they changed some aspect of the game from the beta. But the classes really pissed me off.

No... I did the same with ODST. I was actually excited about ODST but didn't have the money for it. I played it and beat the campaign with a friend in under three hours. There was no separate multiplayer; there were just three maps on a disc for Halo 3. I couldn't justify paying $60 for that shit.

Honestly, I'm more excited about Black Ops. Unless they really fuck with the gameplay (multiplayer) I'll drop money on it the first day it comes out.

ODST has left a bad taste in my mouth after letting me down. I can't trust Bungie like I used to.

I'm not a halo fan, but people keep telling me this is good and I should get it. IDK. I like the soundtrack lol. The last time I played a Halo game it was utter shit. I really hated it. Although I hear this game is more along the lines of the call of duty games.. not sure how true that is.

I know it's relatively new, but I wonder how bad the hacking is/will become.

I don't think Halo 3 is as bad as MW2 in terms of hacking. I feel Bungie does an amazing job with dropping the banhammer on cheating fucksies.

Ever since Halo 1, the multiplayer is what has made the series, I think. Back then it was offline, but people absolutely loved it, as did I. Since then, everyone just loves multiplayer. It's what got me into FPS big-time and then got me into online-gaming in 2008. Got me to buy my Xbox too.
