I realize this thread has very little chance of surviving beyond a day or two, but I watched this with my wife last night and thought it was fine moviemaking.
I don't remember who said it, but someone did: "Movies are rarely great art, so they must aspire to be great trash."
Gothika is great trash.
But then I look up its reviews and see that people friggin' hated it. Why? Any movie that can have a shower scene with Halle Berry and Penelope Cruz and NOT make me want to have sex with them is a well-made movie.
