Got sick of having to Bootcamp in my MacBook so got a new Windows 7 laptop as well.

It's a Lenovo ThinkPad. i7 620 with 8GB of RAM.

I've been playing with it for a couple days now. I still prefer OSX to Windows 7. Just the ease of use and the way applications are installed and removed. It's just cleaner all up.

It's a good laptop though. Oh and the bag that comes with it is so kick ass. It's like I discover a new compartment every day lol and it's large enough for me to haul my Mac and ThinkPad around.

i7? 8GB of RAM? WTF?? That's a fuck ton, even by today's standards of 4 GB on a 64 bit OS. How much did it set you back?

And you could have used VMWare to boot Windows in OSX for small tasks. I only use Windows for gaming so I don't mind rebooting and running off the BC partition just for that.

I may need to root using Windows this time as well. Instructions seem more abundant and easier for that method.

I find VM Ware buggy, especially with Firewire.

I got all the extras. Finger print scanner. 2MP camera. Biggest HDD, etc etc. It was $4000 worth of value but I got it for just under $3000.

I got a big tax refund so went all out. I need laptops that just WORK whatever I throw at them.

Assuming that's AUD, it's not that much in USD. It's about $2700 which isn't too bad for something with all the bells and whistles.

And I was told Lenovo makes the best laptops out there. Their build-quality is superb.

^That's why I got it, reliability. As for the specs I basically needed a laptop with the same specs as my PC so that I know the same studio sessions will run on both.

It was all about just knowing it would work.

Yes, Lenovo bought out IBM's facilities and engineers. They're not as good as some IBM laptops used to be but still are probably the best out there.
