Technology Google Drive

So I used it for the first time to store a software build from work, and to share it with others. I could have hosted it at work, but thought I'd have a play. Simples. Not much different to docs.

Here's a prediction:

Dropbox will partner with Facebook to take on Google+ Drive.

I really hope not. I really hope Dropbox remains independent. I really like Dropbox too much and things that get integrated with Facebook usually suck imho. And Dropbox already has basic Facebook integration.

I thought that a company like Microsoft could've bought it but they have their own crappy Skydrive.

Im guessing that it might be integrated more tightly some day just like Spotify did with Facebook. Facebook will do the same with Instagram and I think they'll try to make it all link together somehow. The benefit with Google is that if you have one Google Account, you pretty much have all Google products.

Ok, so I get class lecture PowerPoints via email and I usually have to download them and sort them into folders on my computer based on class and all.

I was wondering if there was a way I could upload to Google Drive through GMail, so I could access them on my tablet for offline use. That way I may not need to bring a computer with me to class and just use the tablet without WiFi. We have WiFi, but once I get on the internet, I start dicking around, so I'm trying to keep it offline in class. Plus it saves battery too.

So anyway to have it rerouted to download to Drive automatically?

If you click on the settings icon, there's an option at the bottom that says "Set Up Docs Offline (Beta)". That could be it.
