RHCP and Oasis - because their music just makes me smile. I've booked tix to see Oasis in July at MANCHESTER - should be a fantastic atmosphere at Man City Stadium :D

Long time fan of Bob Marley & The Wailers, Guns N Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers,The Police & Queen are all legendary & have great catalogues.

Right now, I'm feeling Franz Ferdinand, The Killers (who sound as though they might have jacked the Franz style, but are still good) & Snow Patrol.

^lol...I could understand why you say that about Killers compared to Franz... but Killers are far better in my opinion.. I own both albums

There's no way The Killers could have jacked the Franz sound. They formed in '02 and they're unlikely to have heard anything by Franz Ferdinand before then. I think it's more a case of their 'sound' being popular and record labels snapping up any bands that sound kinda like them (hence The Dears and The Futureheads getting some airplay).

Snow Patrol were the best British band of '04. Bloc Party might be the best of '05, but who knows.

So you think Nirvana is over rated and guns n roses is up there.
ooooh, if you were one of my mates you'd be getting my lecture on why guns n roses are the worst thing that EVER happened to music.
I love slash though :)
If you were one of my mates you would be getting a lecture why guns an roses album appetite for distruction is a rock an roll gem! i like nirvana but they are way overated, there has been loads of better english bands than them! nevermind is a real good album, its the same old thing as soon as someone dies they get overated! you love slash tho  each to there own tho.

Styles evolve. They may have formed in '02 but who says that then, their sound was the one they have now?

Anyways, that said, I do agree with what you said about record labels & how they go with trends, but I do think there is the possibility that, while The Killers may've already had songs with that 'sound' in their repetoire, that they have leaned towards more following Franz success &/or label advice.

Oasis - Just love everything about them, from their music to their attitude.

Also notable mentions for, Stereophonics, Lit, The Vines and Blink 182.

Brandon Flowers was apparently in a shitty synth-pop band before he formed The Killers :D

Yeah, I would imagine there was some pressure from the label to make sure it sounded kinda Franzy.

Radiohead, A Perfect Circle, Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Clash, Queen.

They make some great music.

Muse sounds like a Radiohead cover band, but I like them.

yeah man.. I bought Absolution last weekend... I'm loving Muse. Though, I don't really find Muse to be a cover band of Radiohead.. I like Radiohead too.. but to me, Muse has their own sound... that's just my opinion

Muse tends to incorporate classical music into their sound, which I like. You're right, they have their own unique style. The lead singer's voice reminds me of York, though. Maybe it's just me.

Led zeppelin- For the beautiful music and lively singing, songs like Stairway to heaven, kashmir, all my love, Baby I'm gon' leave you are true classics.

Pink Floyd- A great band that excelled with creating a full album from beginning to end. The madness they presented in their albums which led some to call Roger the gloomiest man in rock and I agree, but that's what made the band. Plus the most overlooked talent they possesed was the different sounds each album presented. I swear if you put someone in a room, have him/her listen to "dark side of the moon", "animals", and "the wall" they'll say these are three different bands. I was hoping they'd reunite for a final tour since every other band seems to be doing that now.

Green day and coldplay are also favorites.

rush - one of the most underrated bands of all time...they really have skills and their collection is such that you can find a different song to fit every mood
