I saw this on TV originally and just found the article. A family in sydney put up a Nazi flag because they liked the colors. People complaied and asked them to take it down from their front yard, they said they didnt know who Hitler or the Nazi's were, and now that they do, they think "it happened so long ago, people should get over it."

Ill give a $100 to anyone who can find the house, go up to it, take the flag down and burn it and provide video evidence. DO NOT damage the house in anyway or harm anyone or break any laws. If you break any laws I am not responsible in anyway and you will not get your money.

Neighbours lower Nazi flag

NEIGHBOURS say a Nazi flag flying in the backyard of a New South Wales Central Coast family home has been taken down after criticism from the RSL, Jewish groups and other neighbours.
The flag had been flying in the backyard of the home of Mannering Park residents Darren Mackay and Jenni Duncombe for about a week.

It sparked criticism from the RSL, Jewish groups and local residents after the family refused requests to remove it.

Ms Duncombe had told the Daily Telegraph she did not know what the flag signified until the controversy erupted, but would not remove it because her four-month-old daughter liked its bright colours.

Today, the couple's neighbour Amanda Smith said the flag disappeared this morning.

"I can't see it and I can see the flag pole from my house," she said.

Ms Smith said she was one of a number of residents who complained to the police about the matter.

"I'm not usually the type of person to complain about these sorts of things.

"But when you see it you think what is going on, what sort of people are they and what are they doing."

Ms Smith said she found it hard to believe that Ms Duncombe did not know what the flag stood for or that it would be offensive.

"You have to be very ignorant to not know what that was," she said.

A Wyong Council spokeswoman said it was understood the flag had been taken down.

The red Nazi flag, with its black swastika on a white circle, was the symbol of Adolf Hitler's anti-Semitic German Third Reich, responsible for the slaughter of millions of innocent people.

RSL makes Nazi flag plea

THE RSL today urged a family on the NSW central coast to remove a Nazi flag flying in their backyard.
Mannering Park residents Darren Mackay and Jenni Duncombe have refused to agree to demands from their neighbours to take down the flag.

Ms Duncombe told the Daily Telegraph her four-month old daughter enjoyed watching the flag blow around in the breeze and she had not realised the significance of the swastika when she bought it.

RSL NSW president Don Rowe today urged the family to remove the flag.

"The Nazi swastika symbolises to us one of the most brutal and terrible regimes the world has ever seen," Mr Rowe told reporters.

"Millions of people have lost their lives because of it and we're very disappointed that the family has flown the swastika.

"And we would hope that they would see reason and remove it and show respect for those sacrifices made by many Australians."

Owner didn't study history

HIS Nazi flag has caused mass offence - but Darren Mackay does not understand why, because he didn't learn about Adolf Hitler in school history lessons.
The Mannering Park resident was widely condemned by his neighbours, the RSL, Jewish groups, federal politicians and radio talkback listeners.

Mr Mackay remained unrepentant, saying he was considering keeping the flag flying.

The flag was removed briefly yesterday in a farcical moment, as a result of a squabble by television stations.

While neighbours thought the criticism had forced them to remove the flag yesterday, Mr Mackay, 30, and his fiancee Jenni Duncombe, 27, only took it down so it could be filmed by Channel 9's A Current Affair at a secret location.

The father of one said he was thinking about putting the flag back up because he would not be bullied.

He claimed that he and his family were actually the victims in the whole affair after a neighbour allegedly threatened and abused his fiancee and baby.

The scaffolder said they had legally bought the flag at the Morisset Mega Markets for $10.

Mr Mackay said he didn't think the Nazis had done anything wrong by any Australians.

"I only did history in school in Year 7 and 8 and I knew bugger all about it," Mr Mackay said of Nazi Germany.

"If I knew it was offensive to somebody I would have taken it down straight away.

"But I was offended by the way this bloke came around and threatened and abused my family so that is why I left it up.

"I read in a book somewhere that it used to be a symbol of peace and eternity and the Nazis stole it. People should do their history before making accusations."

But the couple said they would not fly the Nazi flag on Anzac Day - instead they planned to fly an Australian flag at half-mast. Ms Duncombe, who didn't realise the significance of the flag said the controversy was a storm in a teacup.

But neighbours of Ms Duncombe and Mr Mackay were seething with anger.

A Yugoslavian neighbour, who did not want to be identified, said he saw the Nazis gun down up to 50 people in 1944 when he was just nine years old.

"These people should be penalised for this," he said.

Another neighbour who served as a Royal Australian Air Force drill instructor during World War II was horrified.

"I sit here looking out the window at it and I feel bloody terrible," he said.

^ I dont know what is worse, the fact that someone is that ignorant, or the fact they became that way as a result of inadequate history teaching at Australian schools...or that they intend to keep it up now knowing....

I could understand if a third world nation had some people who don't know who hitler or the nazis are, but australia? That country was in the war wtf is wrong with people

Thats Awesome!!! I don't see the big deal about the flag though. All that happened like 60 years ago and it wasnt even that bad

shit i learned about the nazi's in grade 3, teacher read us the Diary of Anne Frank
yeah, they touched about it earlier for me, but in history class we never really got passed the civil war til high school...had to look all that shit up on my own

I think its bullshit, how do you NOT know who Hitler and the Nazi's were? I think they just wanted to piss people off since Anzac Day is just around the corner and they'd get some attention. But then I think freedom of speach? And then me thinks if I lived in that neighbourhood I'd jump the fence burn the flag and get my dog to piss on the fire as my own form of freedom of speach because that shit is wrong. And I'd do it for free :D

Isn't that a skull & crossbones underneath? I think this may be more than just "ignorance". Plus, I don't know over there, but aren't you supposed to put the national flag above every other flag?

FlipMo you posted that once, I deleted it, you posted it again, I deleted it. Post it a third time and I will delete it and your user account along with it.
