Ebert showin some love for Resurrection

Roger Ebert has a story on his website with what he thinks will win the Oscars, along with what he believes should win them. Had some love for Resurrection. Here's his comments on the documentary Oscar nominees.

Here, too, the voters are required to see all five nominees. I've seen four of them. "Born Into Brothels," the story of children in the red-light district of Calcutta, is probably the favorite, because of the emotional subject matter, although the filmmakers were handicapped by the impossibility of filming most of the people in the area, and ended up with a film about bright kids taking photography classes. Still, powerful

"Super Size Me," the anti-McDonald's doc, is the box-office winner, but lacks the emotional appeal of "Born into Brothels" or "The Story of the Weeping Camel," which is a scripted film using real people (and camels). "Tupac: Resurrection" is the sleeper; it is a superb, clear-eyed biography of the slain rapper, who left so many tapes behind that he narrates his own story. "Twist of Fate" is unseen by me.

Prediction: "Born Into Brothels"
Preference: "Tupac: Resurrection

That's nice, is Ebert like a movie reviewer?

haha! Funny shit. Well, I know now that you're not from the United States.

Roger Ebert, a journalist for the Chicago-Sun Times also happens to be one of the most well known and respected movie critics in American history. :thumb:

He used to have a partner that was just as well known and just as respected named Gene Siskel, but he died years ago.

Siskel and Ebert, what a legendary fucking duo.

The movie got Two Thumbs Up when it was reviewed on Ebert & Roeper shortly after the movie came out. You know they got love for 'Pac :thumb: :thumb:

I was watching something on TV the other day and they were talking about 2pac's nominations for some of his movie work. I'm not sure exactly what they were talking about because I tuned in at the end and all I could tell is that they were praising him and they showed a clip of Gene Siskel critiqing Poetic Justice and in the critique Siskel literally says "the brightest star of the film was rookie actor Tupac Shakur, he gave an amazing performance and I hope I get to see this young man again down the road".

Did you like just move here or something lol?

I mean, seriously, everyone knows who Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert are.

How old are you?

Yeah and I went to see it twice I still got the tickets. ;)

I didn't see it twice, HOWEVER, I did take my best friend, who happens to be a female, and paid for her ticket, so I did buy two tickets, and yes, I have mine still.

I also bought the DVD the day before it officially released.

lol...Kinda funny, because knowing what they do (movie critics) being 17 years old, an age where you're bound to be going to movies a lot, I'd think those facts would lend to knowing who they are.

I don't know, you Seattle people are weird. :p :thumb:

Us 17 year olds don't go to websites to find out what movies are good. We get reviews from our friends; "That movie was da shiznit", good enough for me. lol

Yeah i seen both siskel, and ebert give pac love over the years in there reviews of his movies..
I dont think any of pac's movies got 2 thumbs down from them..
I know Juice got 1 thumb up by Siskel, ABOVE THE RIM got 2 thumbs up, Poetic Justice got 2 thumbs up, and GANG RELATED got 1 thumb up also by Siskel...
As did GRIDLOCK'D...
heh actually I do think that Siskel liked tupac's work more then Roger Ebert..
heh Siskel was a tupac fan i guess...
I also know that Ebert, and Roper both liked Tupac: Resurrection..
Im happy to see someone take notice at the talent tupac had...
Those men know movies, and they saw the talent in pac's eyes...
so sad pac aint around anymore to make new movies...
I hope Tupac: Resurrection wins the oscar... IT would be the most fitting thing for tupac i mean if he would be alive today you know he would have won one by now... The guy was such a talented actor.. Maybe even more then a rapper...
Oh yea, and he was, and is still the greatest rapper EVER! heh :D :thumb:
