exactly why i said sport luxury and luxury sport. a luxury sport m3 means sport comes before the luxury. its a performer before its a cruiser. a sport luxury m5 is a cruiser before its a performer. its always gonna be a pig because its a cruiser before its a performer. its just a cruiser with some performance abilities, not the best but impressive considering the car is built for luxury.
I dunno with that terminology, man. An M3 will never really be a luxury car, sure it has the prestige badge, but really, underneath it's just a 3 series. I can barely fit in the back of one. Now admittedly, I'm a big lad, but still. It's way too hard, loud and edgy to be anywhere near a luxury car. Does it have luxury options? Yes, the presence of which are debateble with the general point of the car at stake.
An M5 really hangs in the balance. It's big and comfortable enough to be somewhat luxurious, but start driving and the luxury tends to disappear. No matter how you cut it, the ride quality is going to be plenty harder than a "normal" car. Now it's mind numbingly fast of course, but it's too big and heavy to be *really* considered an ultimate performer.
Now I don't mind these compromises they cut. In fact, M3 and 5 are excellent cars and I'm positive the new AMG's are going to kick ass. It's just that, within the next few years, the design bobo's should look very hard and very carefully at the direction which these kind of cars are taking.
