i have a question bout the lyrics in the chorous,
he sings in it "time goes by, puffin on lye..."

what exactly does the "puffin on lye" mean? especially the "lye"

u must know i'm from germany so i don't really understand this phrase. in german i know "a lye" only as this chemical thing (NaCl lye etc.), u know

please help =)

edit: i just listened to the song again and its definetly lah or la or however you want to spell it... just look at the whole verse:

Almost as if u have to smoke more to get the same effect, or better known as tolerance.

you probably have not been smoking copious amounts of high quality bud, virtually everyday for 10+ years.

Believe me you start to build a tolerance like heroin users you eventually you smoke just to feel "Normal". I hate not being able to find weed for days on end, yet after a lay off of a few days I actually get high, if I lay off for two weeks I can get really high for a week or so.

puffin on lah just makes too much sense for you to believe it? it has to be the illogical choice of words 'puffin on life'... but you dont puff on life, or lye- what ever the fuck that is; but you would puff on lah. and the following words in the song.... 'hopin that it gets me high'. nope-that makes too much sense for everyone to believe that he means what he is saying. does there have to be a hidden meaning in everything?
