Here's a true story.

I knew someone who had a car crash. He was the driver and he wasn't wearing a seat belt. He also had one freind in the front but he did put his seat belt on. They lost control and hit a wall. The driver ended up in a coma and when he came out of it he had brain damage. The other guy who had his belt on only got cuts and bruises. Moral of the story, ALWAYS WEAR A SEAT BELT.

I can tell you plenty of similar stories where a person had on a seatbelt and still passed. For example, this kid I went to High School with was in a spin out the day of his prom, was hit by a semi and died from the crash. The damn seatbelt trapped him in the car so that he was unable to get out of the car before the car caught fire. He died that night in his car. Does that effect my opinion on seatbelts. No. Does your story being labeled as "true" or your use of caps effect my decision. Nah. It is, what it is. If he died. It was his time to go.

It's sad that you only wear a seatbelt because a rapper tells you to.

I don't mean to attack you but it is my knowledge that alot of rap songs are made in hope their positive message can influence the youth to lead a better more productive life. So if the homie is inspired to wear a seat belt after hearing Kanye's song, then so be it. At the end of the day, music talks to your soul and mind... What would really be tragic is if people look at Kanye's story and learn nothing at all from his accident. Anyway, it doesn't really matter if you disagree or not... we have one more person willing to wear a seat belt, regardless of why he chose to do it.

If it wasn't for seat belts I would be dead.

I still have some vague scars across my chest and belly where a seat belt normally rests across your body.

Wear them.

That is terrible and tragic.

This is not founded by any specific knowledge, but I assume that newer cars have more reliable seatbelt technology.

Luckily for me, my seatbelt didn't lock up. I limped out of the car and five minutes later, I watched it explode in front of me.

So did everyone who watched the news that night, I still have the footage.

I wasn't even driving. If the driver hadn't of been wearing a seat belt, he would be dead too.

wear seat belts

when a car drives with highspeed in the side of yo car, seat belts wont help much
false. seat belts are multi-directional restraints. you can be ejected from the side just as easily as the back or front.

and syn, your comments have to be some of the stupidest justifications i have ever heard. so when you're on the dan ryan and someone hits you at 45 mph while your car is stationary, and your new braids are all over the pavement will you start wearing your seat belt?

"it's uncomfortable." know what? it's uncomfortable for me NOT to wear one. i feel like a target. when i drive this 47 plymouth with no seat belts i feel unsafe and like a target. if you gave any kind of a fuck about your life or even your grandmother's for that matter you'd get off your high horse and put your fuckin' seat belt on.

...you realize that an airbag like in your grand am without a seat belt will often cause more collateral damage than with one? you're simply not safe and it's ignorant to try to justify your actions with any other excuse than "i'm content being stupid."

u should approach this with more constructive criticism type manner...just know syn that we all care 4 ur well being and dont want u to get hurt or worse have u in some horrific accident then pitures of u on the floor taken and put on some website:)...this also goes to every1 here...happy safe drivings!

I'm not going to justify anything. I don't wear them, plain and simple. I'm not going to lie and say "Oh, I see the light, now i'm going to wear it all the time" to be in compliance with the general opinion of those on streethop. Typing aggresively, typing mean names at me, using examples, and using Caps Lock is NOT going to make me buckle up when I leave out the my gram's house later on to head back to the crib

If it's my time to go, then so be it. I don't believe that wearing a seatbelt will save me if it's my time to die. And if a seatbelt is the key to life, then someone should tell all these people to put down their religious manuals and grab a seatbelt instead.

Furthermore, insulting me isn't going to make me change my mind or my opinion. It's pretty ridiculous the level of intolerance a lot of people on this board possess. If someone doesn't have the same opinion as you, it shouldn't be this upsetting to you. If you guys go around like this in the real world, getting pissed at people when they don't share your same opinions and viewpoints on a particular topic, that has to be an uminaginably stressful and boring way of life. Hanging with people who think and act just like you because if they don't, you'll get upset and freak out.

But whatever, okay, so I don't wear a seatbelt, who cares. The topic of the thread: Do you wear a seatbelt. My answer: No.

I guess I should go to typing "lol" or "I agree" or ":)" like most females here to make everyone happy.

i could play russian roulette and if it's my time to go then i'll get blasted, but i'd rather not play in the first place. dig?

I understand where you're coming from Dante. And perhaps it is safer. But I didn't make a post stating that no one should wear them. All I said was that I choose not to wear them. You could have said "I don't think that's wise because of......"

Calling me names, insulting me, and bringing my grandmother into the conversation....I mean, whatever. I can't express via typing how wrong bringing my gram into it was.

But, at this point, I feel a bit irritated. So yeah, okay, i'm logging off now.

my point was that your life is not your own. if you don't value living, at least consider the people who do rely upon and care about you.

i called you no name. i used an adjective which i felt best describes your position.
