R&B singer Kelis has reportedly been cleared of charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest which stemmed from a 2007 Miami incident.
The singer was arrested in Miami last year after confronting and verbally abusing two undercover officers during a police operation in the South Beach nightclub district.
The officers were talking to various men during their operation and one of the men included rapper Nas, Kelis' husband.
According to the Associated Press, Kelis was cleared of the aforementioned charges on Thursday (September 12).
Kelis released a statement to the AP saying she was “happy that justice prevailed” and she hopes the incident “shedded light on the fact that wearing a uniform and carrying a badge does not allow you to act above the law.”
