Most of you should remember these brothers. I'm not posting it here to make fun of them, but just to let you guys know that they're alive...and really drunk.

I really hope for the best for them. I see Diaz's posts on Facebook sometimes and he sounds real depressed. And fucked up on drugs/alcohol.

They need to post here again. They would definitely bring new personalities to the board.

This is what happens when you don't have God in your life. I'll pray for them.

I think it's the drugs and alcohol. I think they're really depressed....about something. Their posts on Facebook indicate that and that's why I mentioned a few months back that we bring them back here. I don't know what it'll do, but they're missed.

Sometimes it's just best to say good riddance to bad rubbish. Know what I mean?

Yeah...maybe. I wish them the best because they were awesome when I first got here on the forums. Then everyone left.

What are the theories behind everyone leaving the board? Did we ever talking about it? Someone, I forget who, told me it had something to do with the economy. I think it may have been Sigh many years ago on AIM. When I still used it. So 2007.

How does one "move on" from a genre of music?

Personally I still listen to some hip-hop sometimes, but mostly stuff I already have, and if I like something new I kind of discover it by myself and feel no need discussing that. It lost all significance to me, it's just music that I like to bump from time to time.
For some people hip-hop and 2pac info were the only reasons they were here, they weren't really here for the community. The part of 2pac community that stayed grew up and stopped discussing details over and over again, others have moved to other boards.

I just come here because I'm the youngest on the forum and feel like over the past few years my views have changed by listening to other's stories and such.

I don't really discuss music with anyone. I prefer the music to the lyrics, which is why some times when I listen to a song because of its beat for so long and finally hear the lyrics, I stop liking the song because the lyrics are straight up dumb. But still, when I listen to a new album or mixtape, I skip through the songs with beats that don't capture my interest. I skip to the middle, see if the beat picked up, if not, skip the song entirely and move on.

Which is why I've gone more towards trance and instrumentals and such. Spotify really helped me with that. I don't discover new hip hop on Spotify. It's usually whatever gets posted on Facebook from by friends through YouTube videos.

Yeah, I guess. I thought to myself plenty of times that I would leave hip hop because it got boring, but I guess I'm still here, occasionally finding stuff that keeps my interest for just a bit longer.

The music industry as a whole is pretty weak, it's about the one hit, not the listening experience of the whole album. But there is still good music out there. Still good rap artists, still good bands. Some get through and make it in the pop charts too. Some don't. Too many reality TV groups spoiling the pop music genre.

I think part of the reason is because people tend to buy/download single songs instead of buying whole albums. People move on from buying physical CDs to Itunes. Even I used to listen to whole albums and appreciate some songs more than others. These days I only listen to songs I like.

That's a really good point. Never thought of it like that before. This kind of goes hand-in-hand with Pittsey saying it's all about the one-hit wonders.

Do you think piracy did this? Maybe indirectly? Record companies' response to piracy was to start up music services that catered to an a la carte style?
