firmware hack. you need a bit of knowledge though, im sure you know some geek that will do it for a couple of Aus$.

any of you tried iPod Linux on the first nano?

I had it for a while but it used to mess my music play count around so i uninstalled it. Its good that you can choose themes and watch videos, and at lease choose the operating system on the boot screen.

but caused a lot of hassle.

there was this one addictive game on it though. forgotten what its called.
you had to guide a falling ball down a tunnel without it touching the tunnel. the longer you do this, the more points you get. if you touch the edge of the tunnel you lose a life.
