this just in : Not everyone is religious, our laws shouldn't be based on the bible/quran/torah/any other religious text. A majority of Canadians support gay marriage, the majority of our provinces already have it in place. Our country is not run by religious fanatics

OK then, show me a quote from the bible that specifically states that homosexuality is a sin. I have asked many people to do this, and no one has ever been able to find one.

I don't believe in the bible as a holy book, and I don't believe in homesexuality, however if you do, the argument that you have is with god, not with me.

and whats up with more fundding for the military. lol we don't need a fuckin military. if we got attacked we'd be doomed.so if we were to get attacked sometimes,then having a military is useless,u gotta have it all or nothing. but we got protection from our friends down south, cough (the americans) cough.

The military is not only for defence, look at peace keeping missions such as Haiti and soon Sudan. Our forces are very small compared to other western nations, the more funding they get the more missions they can do. During the Tsunami disaster Canadas DART team had to wait for russian jets to fly them to the area, almost 2 weeks after the disaster. We should be able to get there within days if not hours.

We should be able to defend ourselves if we have to and not rely on the Americans.

OK you proved your point, even though those words never came from God's mouth, just his followers. However, like both me and Glockmatic stated before, laws should not be based on religion. Separation between church and state, even though people like Bush blur the lines more and more every day by forcing his religious beliefs on things such as the supreme court. Anyway this is getting way off topic here. I can't say I'm for or against gay marriage, I really don't care one way or the other. It's not a topic I will consider when making my vote.
